iKamper Skycamp initial thoughts and observations

Any update? I keep looking at other RTTs, but keep coming back to the iKamper. You pretty much did exactly what I was thinking of doing if I found the included mattress lacking.

    New Jeep - Gladiator Rubicon

I like those concepts, but the roof rack on the top one would need to have a separation between the roof and bed topper.

Who ordered a New Defender ?

In my humble opinion, and no offense to anyone on here that owns that (or if the manufacturer is a sponsor), but that is hideous.

Who ordered a New Defender ?

Dang, that article points out another thing I hadn't realized: I figured it would be easy to remove the plastic front bumper and install a steel one, but it seems it will be more complex (and therefore expensive) to do that. Will be interesting to see what aftermarket options become...

    2020 Defender Spy Shots....

Consider this: the Jeep GC is quite capable offroad. But had they discontinued the Wrangler and slapped that name on the GC, Jeep fans would be rabid.

Gladiator pop top from AT Overland

No need to apologize...maybe just put a splash-page up with an image such as the one in this thread and say "coming soon" so people don't think you have let your domain lapse. Just a suggestion. :)

Nice, I like that. BTW, your website doesn't work.

    Long term JKUR

You've done 138k miles in ~5 years, so by aiming for another 10 you will be trying to get to >400k miles. It's doable. I've had two vehicles that reached 500k km (~310k miles); a 1990 Chevy S-10 and a 2002 Acura RSX. I did very little maintenance other than oil changes to either after they...

    2020 Defender Spy Shots....

Yes, you're right. If MB could get past the pedestrian-safety rules to maintain that front end, I don't see how JLR couldn't have made the new Defender's nose look a bit more like the previous-gen. Mind you, I don't have $135k (Canadian) for a base model G-Class... ?

Barn Door for JK factory hardtops

Oh, I know. But I wouldn't do that for the same reason I won't do it on my current JK: lack of skill and fear of messing it up! My point is that Jeep could have redesigned the top to be modular from the factory. If it was an upgrade over the standard hardtop, I would tick that option box...

    2020 Defender Spy Shots....

There's an interesting discussion over in the Jeep forum regarding overseas/remote travel diesel quality not playing nicely with new diesel engines. I'm not sure if it applies in this case, but the underlying consensus seems to be that newer petrol engines are becoming more realistic for...

Barn Door for JK factory hardtops

I still don't undertstand why Jeep didn't make that standard on all JL hardtops; that's a missed opportunity and an epic fail on their part. Your concept has so many advantages with respect to storage, ease of removal (smaller, lighter parts), the ability to run just the hard top (so you can...

    Kayaking in the Arctic Ocean

Sorry to hear it didn't work out, but probably was the right decision. It would have been more fun experiencing it with someone else, anyways. Keep the drysuit until next year, or if you can't return it, you can probably sell it for almost as much as you paid for it on a local paddling forum.
