    Doc's AT FlipPac Build Thread

Looking great Dave! Can't wait to see it in Death Valley. To answer TangoBlue's question, yes it serves as a step up and a spot to sit down if needed. I got to see this during the beginning of the interior build and man, with the top deployed, there is a ton of headroom.

Some modifications made to the Kamparoo

Now the spare tire system. Cable cranking system Built a "box" to hang the crank assembly, since this is normally mounted up to the truck frame. Reinforcement plate so box would not move under load Crank assembly mount in mount. The whole mount can be bolted to the trailer. Showing the...

Some modifications made to the Kamparoo

Well, in anticapation of our upcoming Death Valley trip, I wanted to get a couple things done to the Kamparoo I have been putting off. Okay, in reality I am in the middle a another huge project that has been going on a year, tying up the garage. I made room to get the welder out. I have...

    What good starting book?

Thanks Ryan, I picked up the first book you recommended, last night at B&N. Based on the reviews I read on this and a few other books recommended, I felt this might give me the best idea of what I was after. I started skimming it over last night and even just reading the info on the captions...

How many boxes of blue chemlights do you have? I would like 3 blue and 1 red. I can grab them from you on the Death Valley trip. :D

    What good starting book?

Thanks so far to all the great recommendations. I am checking them out and will most likely hit a local bookstore to do some hands on time with them. Keep the recommendations coming. photoman - I understand what you are saying and that is part of what I did this past weekend, just went out to...

    What good starting book?

Howdy everyone, So I have gotten into a better camera (G11), up from the point & shoot level. I am planning to take some classes but would like to find a good, basic beginners book on understanding the typical functions of a camera. Things like F stops, shutter speed, ISO, etc., etc...

    New 98 ZJ.

HIGHLY recommend you run far away from Rocky Road as a vendor. If you search around on the different Jeep forums, you will find the products are average but their customer service is horrible. If you have just about any problem, from shipping to parts not fitting to failures, you will...

    Back-up Lights on the trailer

Side benefit is that you could put a switch on the trailer and be able to control the lights completely independant of if the truck was hooked up or not. Could be helpful at times. This is in addition of the truck reverse controlling the lights too.

    Photo Critiqing Thread

Okay, this is my first post in this thread and I am just starting to get the hang of my new Canon G11 camera. Please be gentle... :) okay how about honest. :D It has been interesting in reading the work posted so far. No post image work done outside of resizing. No additional compression or...

    Trailer a trail liability?

My take is similar to above but I also wanted to add, since we do some solo vehicle trips, I find the trailer helps to keep me in check on my travels. I tend to be a little more cautious on my routes with the trailer and the likelihood of getting into a bad spot by myself (especially since I...

Great build. I really like how well it was thought out. Curious, what's the weight ready to roll but not loaded?

Does anyone have a Panasonic GF1?

I had seriously thought about the GF1 but the price was just too far out there. I ended up with a Canon G11 and I think it will end up working great, once I figure out all this camera stuff. LOL Still going to get adapters and teleconverters to help the zoom range out. My test shots have...

    Roll Cages-

That cage in the Disco is a great example of good planning and exacution. Thing is, unlike an XJ, he has much more headroom to start with. I doubt you would get as much clearance from the bars in an XJ and would still run the risk of hitting your head inside. I think the hybrid exo/internal...

    Doc's AT FlipPac Build Thread

x2 I have used it on the bed floor on my '68 truck project. It was REALLY easy to apply and the nice thing is, the kit comes in 4 bottles and a can of hardner. Opt for the kit with the gun. You can mix up each bottle individually so you only use what you need and have minimal waste. Oh, you...

    Roll Cages-

Hey Brian, Here is what I think is the best bolt in cage for an XJ out there. Seem to be up and tight as you can get and if I was doing an internal cage, this would be the one I would buy. Pick your year and door config to see pics. http://www.rockhard4x4parts.com/sport-cages.html
