What is it like to use a Waxed Jacket everyday?

I think you are right, they are looking for that "instant" personality. You got to be careful now with both Filson and Barbour, they have started selling to a younger "stylish" generation, the same generation that likes their clothes a size too small. In Filson they call it the Seattle fit...

What is it like to use a Waxed Jacket everyday?

Your too sensitive. LOL It has it's uses, may be archaic but it goes far beyond a fashion statement. It can be maintenance intensive if used in wet weather, but it's no more a fashion statement than a wool shirt or hand wind watch. Though I will admit to people buying them for the look. I...

What is it like to use a Waxed Jacket everyday?

I have both Barbour and Filson. I think the Barbour is a little more refined and a little more comfortable than Filson, but I think Filson may be a little tougher.

For those that carry Guns and Overlanding

I think you hit on part of the problem, people conflating a forum with reality. Grammar has little to do with the 2nd amendment. As far as the OP's question, I dont care whether they carry open or otherwise. So far as I know theres been no more of a spate of accidental shootings in camping...

    RTIC Coolers

Excellent cooler, both the soft and hard side. I'm sold, if I bought another cooler, RTIC would get first shot at it.

    Cold weather clothing....

Agree completely, there are many better options than cotton, just not a death fabric. Cold like hot is a relative term, I supplied a job in west Texas with a crew from Maine, I mentioned one morning it was cold, they quickly informed me that 38º was not cold as they worked in shirt sleeves. 90...

    Cold weather clothing....

But cold weather can depend on a lot of things, whats cold in south Texas, aint cold in Nome. Less than ideal for sure, the death fabric seems a bit theatrical.

    Cold weather clothing....

I would say death fabric is geographically specific. The conquistadors in central America adopted the death fabric as fast as they could. I do not recall a job site in 20 years where the hands were not wearing cotton Carhartt coats. Merino is good stuff, but it's not the only way to stay warm.

    RTIC Coolers

Actually their soft cooler is a huge improvement over the Yeti soft cooler. Good enough that now Yeti with the flip 12 is copying the soft cooler RTIC imports. As far as rip offs, I'm sure Oreo had no problem ripping of Hydrox, and Colt wasnt too happy when hundreds of companies started...
