Here is our Hawk on an AT flatbed. A grandby would fit too. We love it!
A flatbed FWC won't fit on the AT trailer but I'm sure you can easily find a trailer it will fit on.
Thanks for the compliments all! These are fun little side projects and always nice to come up with something that folks appreciate. I've done almost 10 different systems now, including one for each of my trucks that has undergone a few iterations and looking through this thread and getting...
I am not sure how much you have into your setup, but FWIW you can spend $120 on a set of Accuride heavy duty 500lb locking slides, add two pieces of L-angle alumnium and a scrap of plywood and for under $150 have an awesome setup that is super easy for the whole family to use. I understand...
ABC - your posts don't make any sense to me. You come on this board specifically to warn people about a certain importer, but your story behind it is far from clear.
Did you buy a vehicle from them? You reference "my Delica" which you need to let sit for 2 years, but then appears you...
There is a write up on mud where someone used the switch as a winch in and out control. They wired up some relays to it and the whole thing looked pretty slick!
I have an adventure trailer with six stud Toyota hubs and electric brakes. I'm on the East Coast but if there's any significant cost savings of us swapping units we might want to discuss that.
If we are still talking about Sequoia's, our '06 Limited gets similar numbers. It is bone stock with OEM sized Michelin street tires. It is really hard for me to resist the urge to buy a set of +1 sized Ko2s for it but my wife forbid it! :)
Our family wheeling camping expedition rig is a 99 LC. My wife DDs a 06 Sequoia and she used to drive a 99 4R. The Sequoia is really great for your intended use. It's not great at hard core wheeling, but has tons more room than the LC, has more power and would be better for towing. It...
Might want to try calling one of the local cabinet shops and asking where they buy their materials. I would imagine they can point you in the right direction.
No offense but MDF is a terrible choice.
Lowe's sells a sheet of MDF for $31. A sheet of not-so-great-but-way better than MDF 3/4" birch ply is $50. We buy 18mm baltic birch ply from our supplier for $25 for a 5x5 sheet. Best material to use is the 15mm or 18mm BB ply. You will...
We are on our way back from a week in Maine. Everything worked pretty well except for the Fulterer heavy duty slides. Their lock out mechanism sucks and the tabs both got bent out of shape and required some gentle persuasion to work properly again. Ashame the accurides don't come in the 56"...
Thanks guys! It works. Needs more dividers to keep everything organized and our GSI cookware set doesn't fit through the opening so need to do something about that!
Prototype is built. We are off tomorrow for a week long family vacation through VT up to the ME coast and then to Aacadia. We rushed to get it done today so I don't know the weight but it is pretty heavy. Used white PVC 3/8" material on the exterior so it is mostly weatherproof for this trip.
