Great initial thread and follow on comments from most; not sure why people can't just get on a thread and expand it with additional knowledge and insight from experience so others may grow.
On that note, this thread can really be turned into a self recovery type place in the absolute need to do...
I've been keeping my eye out for the Bollinger release prices; these guys are nailing all the wickets on e4x4 market and also a Class 3 Truck so it doesn't need airbags or the same crash limits that limited Defender.
Won't be cheap but if you want a true off-road style characteristics in a the...
I would agree that most of that stuff is entirely worthless and to be honest I wouldn't mind the panel in a commercial version to show a screen like GAP IID Tool for diagnostic and then my radio, phone, maybe NAV. I've found that a NAV system, even in the Tesla is not as quick access as my...
If the coolers are up high like everyone seems to be saying, then these will not be a factor for a bumper modification; although will like be a significant cost associated with the design and fit. On that note, I would worry more about all of the various cameras and sensors and blah blah back...
Drove the company LR4 back to SD from my work trip in Vegas today and it reminded me how comfortable my LR3 used to feel when I first bought it. The LR3 is still comfortable as it always has been, just saying the LR4 was like how I felt from going from other vehicles to the LR3; quite...
CV angles are just like pinion angles; too much creates a lot of vibration and a ton of stress! Hence why most IFS lifts over 3 inches need pinion angle compensation for longevity and normal suspension travel. Diffs are usually lowered to keep the driveshaft and axle angles as close to factory...
There is a company down in SA; I don't remember who they are but think they make stuff for Toyota and they have a two-piece bushing design that holds grease inside the bushing. The purpose is longevity and noise; I wonder if there is a way to zerk fitting poly sway bushings like this on an LR?
All of those repairs/preventative maintenance actions will get you another 100k on mileage; outside of fluids of course! I agree with you and once we know how to work on the LR3/4, they are not that complicated to be honest; especially with the wealth of community knowledge on this site. I...
Order the GAP Tool first and see what you are getting for codes. Calibration tools inside the tool can fix some problems and you could have a memory fault in there that just needs to be reset; which, if not reset, will continue to come back if you have a problem or not.
What gives you the...
Yep; concur all around! Nothing against Goodyear cuz they are great; I just happen to have had the same great success on BFG and I will not change tires until I find a solid review AND personal experience that proves me wrong.
For me:
1) BFG KO or KM
2) Goodyear Duratrac
3) Cooper STT
4)...
Nice! Next time I take my M&M Covers out for cleaning I plan to sew Velcro Loop to the back of the headrests to allow for rollover/crash first-aid kit access as well.
*****PM/DIRECT MESSAGE FOR INTEREST ONLY*****
Putting some feelers out before I publish on the CLASSIFIEDS page but wanted to see if anyone is interested in the following items; hit me up direct on PM and we can discuss working out prices and link-up in SoCal. Have to move some of this stuff...
I wonder if that roof rack was built or licensed by Thule; those cross bars are identical (by looks) to Thule Aerobars. Can't imagine JLR is in the tent and rack business so somebody is building those for them under the JLR license!
