Ingenious Land Rover Defender - seriously clever!

It is so well thought out and by both of them. Self built and they use it. If he made them as more than a one off I know some would buy them, I know I would and it is on a diesel LR. Hard to beat that. I would trade in my LR for one of those in a second.

Solar panels, fixed to the roof, adjustable on the roof, or portable?

I have routed wires down the side of the rear door and through the tail light grommet to get into the vehicle without any holes in the exterior. There is plenty of room as the rear door closes to allow me to use silicone to fix them to the body so nothing shows. No extra holes, no leaks.

    Oztent Owners Forum

I have the sides, front and fly. Have used the sides to add a bit more room to the 'spacious' RV3. The loops you speak of are for (well, what I use them for) tent stakes to keep them in place in the breeze, although the velcro tabs do a great job of securing the sides to the poles. Once the...

Ground anchors - RedRock vs PullPal

Looks to be a bit weak in metal thickness (did not quote specs but it did say it was for extreme use) and construction, might be OK for a lightweight Jeep. Don't think saving a few $$ is a good enough reason for possibly putting your self rescue to the test. It appears that all of the...

    L322 Overlanding Build and Adventures

A 2 inch lift and possibly another 2 inches with a roof top tent, I am guessing you do not put it in a garage of standard height. great looking additions to a capable vehicle.

Can a stock LR4 handle Canyonlands & Moab?

Get something like this. https://www.amazon.com/Victor-22-5-00126-8A-Tire-Repair-Toolbox/dp/B009SSMQPW/ref=sr_1_19?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1532961596&sr=8-19&keywords=tire+repair+kit ARB makes one for more $$ but most are reasonable. Carry a good spare. An air compressor might be a useful item to...

front runner wolf & cub pack boxes

The Wolf boxes don't fit inside the FR drawers that I have. Two Cub boxes do, end to end, but have to be the flat top ones not high tops. I don't carry them on the rack so even if there holes it doesn't matter. They keep my cooking gear contained so I always know where it is.

    LR3 plugs - irridium?

I purchased my iridium OEM plugs from Land Rover dealer as I was unaware of the cost difference that can be realized through AB or even on the Amazon site. Next time it will be AB but that will be a long time from now as they have just been changed. Runs much smoother now.

LR3/LR4 owners: What height do you set your suspension?

I have found that using the dial in height is usually enough to get me over almost all the obstacles that I encounter. Although the last adventure did dent the exhaust pipe on my new MagnaFlo system when I dropped off a little boulder that I thought I had or was going to miss. Not willing to...

    Insulated garage for fridge?

The commercial fridge covers that are sold by the makers are very thin but they seem to work. I am in process of deciding on making one for myself. I have had no issues even being the desert at 113 deg. with the fridge not keeping things cold. I will use a canvas type fabric and the two sided...

LR4 Roof Rack Weight Limit ?

My FR roof rack rides about 4 inches above the glass. Helps to shade it. I have about 40 pounds (plus weight of the rack) on the rack at any one time and camping it carries about 300+. since it attaches to the outside of the limit of the roof where the OEM attachment points are I have not...

    Offroad tool kit

I have changed out my mag wheels for steel. Almost all of the vehicles for off road have had steel. Used to carry a 15 inch pipe wrench and a 4 pound hammer. The pipe wrench combined with the 24 inch jack handle and the big hammer made a good combination to pound out a dent in the rim. It has...

    Cut off shorts

With so many 'real' shorts available why would you do it? Even the thrift stores sell shorts, so even if you are frugal like me you can get them. If you are going to cut pants, hem them. It ain't that hard.

    LR3 Overhead grab handle attachment

One of mine broke and I had to fix it. Mine have a little tab that lifts and behind that is a screw that attaches the handle to the metal behind the headliner. Use a sharp object like the blade of a pocket knife to lift the tab. Phillips screw. Anything that attaches to just the headliner is not...
