Alternative Solar Panel Installation on Hardshell RTTs?

So what kind of velcro are you using that can withstand 60+ MPH? If you are going to use only letters like 'VHB' explain the real word for those that might be interested in your experiment and what exactly you are saying.

Alternative Solar Panel Installation on Hardshell RTTs?

I really don't velcro will hold in the wind created by a vehicle on the road. You could be the test case for this application.

    No Top/Soft Top Overland Trip

I had a Pinzgauer 710M for 13 years. It has a soft top. A bit of noise but it rarely went over 50 MPH so I would class it a tolerable as the entire vehicle was noisy. It did get a lot of looking anywhere I went so having people being around it constantly was a given. I once came out of a store...

    Rear Lockers

Went on an adventure last week on CO backroads that were very rocky and muddy. Not just muddy but with many mud/water holes that were at least 2 feet deep. Many places the locker was a distinct advantage. Glad I had it. Had the screen in 4X mode and there were times that the center locker symbol...

Must have missed that part about rollers and the supposed importance of them. Just offering an option to the strap controversy by mentioning a way to construct DIY straps.

    PVC Water Supply

FosterWV, This is from a previous post...(4" pipe, sectional area of 12.5sq", takes about 18" of pipe per gallon stored. 6' pipe = 4gals. 8' = ~20L) Someone has done the math for you already. So your 2 4 foot sections are going to get you a little less than 5 gallons not 12. Might as well get a...

    Tire repair kit?

I have the ARB kit. Haven't used it yet but many in my off road group have it and that seemed to be a qualifying endorsement. I wasn't really concerned about cost, I just wanted to have something on hand for myself or other drivers that need help and it seemed to be reliable.

    Rear Lockers

On my LR3 the nav panel (in off road mode) indicates when the rear locker is activated so I am guessing if no locker shows on the panel you don't have one. The vin is the best indicator unless you can get under the vehicle and know what to look for. Really haven't had the use for one except that...

    5th Gen 4Runner Electrical Management System/Dual Battery

Didn't find it as you posted but I did find it listed like this. NOCO GCP1 13 Amp 125V AC Port Plug with Integrated Extension Cord Thinking of using this instead of threading the extension through the window to get to my ARB fridge. Thanks for your photos, makes the installation look...

New spare tire bag final testing!

I do like the smaller of the two. would liked to had seen this available before I bought my Trasharoo. Much closer to the style I prefer. Always good to see new items come to light by innovative designers. I would like to see it fit the tire as my ladder is above my license plate and that could...

How many miles is too many LR4

Check with the dealer where it was serviced. Take in the vin and they can give you a complete history including what is next on the service schedule. In the event there is something major coming up, use that in your negotiations for price. I did not do that and so I recommend it as a course of...

    Full length rack noise

I have the full length FR rack and the questionable wind fairing is totally useless. I do believe that a great part of the wind noise is created by the cross pieces. At +35 mph the wind noise was a horrible scream. I made my own fairing and it decreased the noise a noticeable amount. It allows...

Storing propane cylinders inside enclosed spaces

Are you traveling to LA central? are there lots of thieves in WV? I can see attaching the tank while you travel and taking it off when home to avoid exposing it to the elements. Wouldn't covering it solve the exposure issue? They can be painted. Put it horizontal over the fender.

    Which one?

I bought the 07 HSE version and put 18's on it. I don't thing I would get a vehicle just for the rims, they can be changed. HSE has the rear locker, find it very useful off road in CO, NM, AZ and Utah. Haven't been to Montana, perhaps, as you say, the roads are less harsh there.
