    Best Android Overlanding software?

i've completely switched from backcountry navigator to alpine quest. it's got more features, downloads faster, redraws maps to screen faster, and the developer has been very receptive to requests to make it more friendly for in-vehicle use. for example i had asked if he could space out the +/-...

    Scepter MFC spout holder

idea stolen from the similar ones on eBay. he charges $34, this was $37 including glue. all parts came from Lowe's. made this one with enough room for my oil-filter wrench which i use to loosen the lids when the cans have been sitting in the sun all day. the plastic bag my spout came in was...

"ultimate" (modular) trail welder & jumper cable kit

my guess is a deep cycle would provide enough amperage, and would be better since it could deliver current longer without damaging the battery. and no you don't want them hooked to the charging system for sure. you should remove the batteries from the vehicle to prevent any voltage spikes from...

nah i was testing it out by inching in a little at a time, that was as far as i got before water came in the cabin, so i backed out. the drivers side was much higher so i still had the airbox clear of sucking water. with some trail maintenance it was eventually passable. trip report...
