While you may not be looking for rocks, they do present themselves now and then. You could drag the XO coupler right over a rock and it wouldn't even notice. I don't know how well other couplers would hold up to that. It's a bit heavy but I'm darn confident that it's never going to break...
The side to side and top to bottom measurements are going to be similar, and thus look similar in pics, but the space is much deeper in the Expedition.
I have camped with mine in full desert sun many times and I must say that managing the temperature of that compartment is an ongoing challenge. I don't track the temperature in the compartment itself but I have seen 110F inside the camper.
The best strategy I have come up with is to ensure that...
The biggest factor is internal storage space. The Expedition has loads of it, enough to hold clothing and peripheral supplies (paper towels, toilet paper, toiletries, etc) for 2 people for long periods. My first thought when I looked at a Boreas at ExPo was "where the heck would we put all our...
I have run mine in both directions - I confirmed with Ark that it is fine either way.
It is undoubtedly heavy but not unmanageable. I remove mine regularly to stash it in the trailer. Maybe 20-30 pounds?
There are much more significant differences between those 2 trailers than just the suspension. I have an Expedition 2.0 with the Timbren suspension and it has worked really well for over 7000 miles so far. That being said, I'm sure the Cruisemaster suspension is perfectly adequate as well. I'd...
I use one for my 3000lb trailer (500lb tongue weight). I've pulled the trailer over 7000 miles with it so far, on all manner of terrain. It's worked great for me. I've never used a lock n roll but I shied away from it because it seems fiddly to hook up. Really nothing easier for hook up than a...
A Montana corporation is not a resident of California, it is resident in Montana.
A Montana corporation does not have a location in California, only in Montana.
That isn't quite so easy to do since you need to have a driver's license from *some state*....
Get "caught" doing what? The vehicle happens to be owned by a corporation that is based in Montana. You happen to be using it in another state. There is nothing to be "caught" doing...Commercial vehicles are often registered in states other than the state where the business operates. It's one of...
Noco chargers *do not* float. I have a GenPro 10x2 in my trailer. I too expected that it would float, but they do not - by design.
From Noco support:
"Our chargers do not use a traditional float voltage. Instead they remove the charge once it is complete and go into a low energy maintenance...
That is not "Overlanding", that is competitive racing...
I certainly hope that none of us is driving off-road as that would be terribly destructive to the environment and endanger the outdoor-focused lifestyles that many of us here enjoy.
While "overlanding" will generally involve some...
OP, it sounds like you've got more GoPro experience than I have so maybe you'll have some input for me...I've got a Hero8 Black that gets used mostly either mounted to a SUP or mounted on the dash in the truck. We've pretty much stopped using it in the truck because it inevitably gets too hot...
Just the other day someone in a campground asked if we were "overlanders"! I wasn't sure how to answer that question since you never know what anyone means by the term...
A few years ago we started with 2 goals - 1) spend as much time outside as we can possibly can and 2) spend as little money...
