@lukmud - looking nice!
A few quick questions for you:
1. is the hitch a bit of a shin-grabber? Was there a reason you had it stick out a few inches, or could it have been closer to flush with the back edge of the frame?
2. Do you remove the large center cabinet box when you are at camp...
$8500 for that one is a really good deal. In my mind that's exactly the build you're looking for. Add some sliders and you'd be all set. Recent maintained, F&R locker, etc. Only thing it doesn't have is rear AC. Our siberian husky hangs out in the back, and 95% of our travel is during...
Does the one handle release both sides or is there something else I'm not seeing holding each arm in place? Love how it angles back and follows the rear body line. Great work!

I spent a few months searching and ended up buying something stock, original and well cared for. I enjoyed building it up exactly the way I wanted, but it definitely costs more to do it that way! You'll save a ton buying...
Do your homework on the 2 bumper mfg's you mention above. Pretty sure CB.com is filled with some pretty unhappy customers for both those outfits. It's unfortunate, because they both look pretty cool.
Are you happy with the axle? Any changes or things you'd do differently? Ours would likely be a bit heavier. Need a few additional "niceties" to please the wife!
Shelf organization looks great BTW. Love the pivoting stove slide as well. Great work!
Here's another thought for Roof rack...
With a 10-15k budget you should be able to get a pretty nice pre-'03 100 series. That is definitely the way I would go. 98/99 had the e-locker, '00+ had the Atrac. I think you'll be a lot happier with the extra space, amenities and added comfort of the 100-series. It's a pretty awesome...
Scott - are you saying that you don't think it would be possible to mount the ProRack to a silver shadow? The cabin side profile shapes don't look that different to me, are they?
I was hoping to get the measurement from the top of the roof to the top of the Yakima bars that you just installed...
Scott B.'s Little Guy Teardrop Build
FWIW, here are some photos of the ProRack roof rack that LG offers. With this setup you are able to open a top mounted fan a few inches before it would hit a RTT or other roof load. The top of the cross bar is roughly 6" above the roof.
Maybe...
Hi Scott, been following your thread for a bit as we've been discussing a TD for awhile now. My wife and I just got back from the "local" LG dealer (~2hrs away) and had a few questions for you:
1. do you think the fan could be relocated towards the front of the trailer? We will have a rack...
For those of us on the east coast tight trails and lots of trees sticking rtt up there is going to make off roading a bit trickier. I've got a 100-series land cruiser which is big enough to begin with much less adding the rtt.
We're saving up for a teardrop as it's the best solution for...
Great info Zimm, please follow up once you get them installed and put them through their paces at the local shopping mall parking lot :)
Going to VORW this year? maybe I can take a peak at them then.
The MT offset arms don't give as much clearance as the WWOR ones, correct? You thought the trade-off was worth it?
I haven't bashed my OEM ones yet, but am itching to do so :)
I think there are also OME versions. Cruiseroutfitters can tell you more, but I believe that Kurt posted up here about installing a set on his 100.
