Well... my comment was somewhat in jest... :)
All these manufactures selling small inferior shocks for big heavy trucks with big claims. I'm giving a pretty foolproof way to tell that its BS :)
I come from a racing background... Lots of internet chatter about shock size, etc... A lot of it bogus hearsay :)
General rule of thumb to determine if you have proper shock size, or need bigger (any older experienced race shock tuner will agree):
Drive 10 miles or so down a washboard at...
Its odd indeed!
Whats even odder is that, if you order a 4500/5500 is comes with the 52 by default
However, my dealer here in San Diego orders all of his for the lot with just the 22s.
He explained majority of the folks buying them here convert them to tow trucks, etc, and the rear tank gets...
Not sure, and not motivated enough to do that much math...
But not having to sleep at shady gas stations in the middle of no where waiting for them to open is priceless! :P
Wow, this is weird... I thought i was losing my mind, so i just went to the Ram site and tried it again.
Yes, works perfectly fine still with the Hemi and dual tanks. For the CA84 (size i ordered)
BUT..... It wont allow dual tanks with CA60.. only available with the rear 50 gallon (hemi or...
Ha! Yes, ive done the Canada/Alaska/Arctic Circle thing twice now, and will most definitely be spending a lot more time up there, getting of the beaten path and deeper into the back country.
Reasons for my decision for such a silly capacity, which i had already known but definitely confirmed...
Slightly Incorrect..
Both the Hemi and the Cummins are available with the dual tank setups, for a total of 72 gallons.
I know this for sure, because I had a 2020 Hemi variant with dual tanks, on order, order was approved and went to C status.
Long story short, dealer called and said the Hemis...
Are you sure they arent configurable to where you want them?
EXAMPLE: I have a new 2020 Ram CC on order. The tanks are available 3 different ways. Only the midship (which seems to be the most popular config), only the rear, or both. Seems they do this so the builders can choose the best...
All depends on tire size, wheel, etc... With my Jeep on 37" MTR's on 17" wheels, i would literally run them at ZERO PSI by pulling the valve stems out and never had an issue with non beadlocks.
Tires vary wildly, as does the sidewall construction, so there is no magic #
But the jeep was a...
Im just razzing ya man.
I’ve spent a ton of time down in Baja breaking stuff and you’re spot on with that for sure!
If you’re not a pro level Jerry rigger down there, you can be in for a very bad day
Hi, my name is Kevin and I like to stir the pot... :)
John, didn’t you have a massive break/failure on that aluminum bed down in Baja when you first got it?
Thanks for the input guys!
Made the decision to go with the diesel ram with the Cummins instead of the gas now.
I’ll still be installing a heater though
Love GXV and they stuff is top notch.
But i find that link odd and humorous how much its saying panels are better than molded, yet they offer molded bodyoptions... Hmmmm
A lot of elitism in this thread...
Someone wants to spend $500k to occasionally hit some dirt roads and have comfort.. if it makes them happy, who cares?
Someone wants to sleep in a ground tent in the bush... if it makes them happy, who cares?
Get off your high horse already...
