I've seen more than a few Chevy 350 w/ Chevy 4 speed tranny swaps in SoCal. Other than moving the radiator forward and shafts. They all tell me it's pretty straightforward.
Got 2014 Jeep jku and M 416 wired with a 7 pin female plug. Jeep has a flat four male plug. Got the adapter and hooked it up.
Tail lights, blinkers and brake lights all work until... I turn on the head lights and then everything works until I hit the blinkers. Then both trailer lights flash...
Smog may be a problem since it's a non Ca. car. The tires and suspension are also a red flag.
Personally I don't go look at cars that don't have interior and engine pics. Always figure there is a reason.

Rubies are nice but it doesn't sound like you will be doing much rock crawling so why pay extra for that setup? Having said that I would hit Craigslist and grab some Rubicon rims and tire take offs and maybe the coils...

I bring a pistol which is out of sight but handy and often bring rifles just for plinking. That's the beauty of living and camping in the desert. Few folks and lots of space.

Maybe it's a definition disagreement. To me expedition vehicle is one you can sleep, cook and travel in. A jeep will take you places where you can camp. YMMV.
