I'm in the same boat you are. Same set up except mine is an 02.
Really looking forward to hearing some opinions and solutions to the thin tire and how to overcome it problem.
Jeep is a 95 YJ with the 4.0 and a 5 speed.
In a hurry and cross connected the pos/neg while jump starting the jeep. Started the jeep up and when I disconnected the cables the jeep died. That's when I realized my mistake. Jeep quit running when the cables came off. Connected properly and it...
Considering a trailer with a RTT for the jeep. The tent pictures I've seen all have WIndow and door awnings and what looks like roof flies.
Living and camping in the Mojave and Sonoran deserts I have a major concern. How do these trailers stand up to wind. Wether it's 110 in summer or 18 in...
To carry and support a two week off grid wilderness excursion. A full size domestic truck seems the way to go. It'll carry plenty of supplies and fluids along with comfort items. Why carry a stool when you can carry a chair?
A Dodge diesel with a few upgrades seem a hard choice to beat.
So my neighbor mentioned she wanted to get rid of her Suburban. It's a 91 2500 Silverado 4X4 says "Fuel Injection." on the tailgate.
The paint is lousy and she says the engine leaks/burns oil even though it was rebuilt before she got it. On the plus side it's cheap and since we live in the...
OP, I'm in SoCal too so I know if your towing out of town there's some big hills to go over.
I have an 02 3/4 4X4 burb with the 8.1. Our trailer is 7k pounds but the burb pulls it as well as the Ford PSD did. I go over the Grapevine or any of the other passes and mountains at the speed limit...
I started riding Rokons back in the 1960's as a kid. Actually I rode the same 1964 Rokon along with others I've owned up to about 5 years ago.
The wife would like to get another pair but the newer and quieter four stroke engine. In investigating them I've learned you'll want to replace the...
My truck gun is a stock Saiga in 7.62X39 cost 300 bucks with plastic stocks. It lives behind the rear seats of the suburban in the well.
The Saiga is an AK in a standard rifle stock. It's always going to work and getting it scuffed or dinged won't hurt it or me. And with the low cost of 7.62X39...
Update below.
I'll tell you what the symptoms are and you guess what's wrong.
The truck is a stock 2002 Chev. Suburbam 2500 4X4 with an 8.1
Front drivers fender is 2-3 inches lower to the tire than the passenger side.
Front end groans on some right turns.
Post your guesses and the answer...
We live within 1/4 of the San Andreas Fault so we keep our trailer loaded with everything but perishables and underwear. Makes it handy for a weekend runaway too.
I'm thinking that with 270K on the 01 you are not that far away from some pretty major systems wearing out and needing replacement or rebuilding.
That 4K you'd have to pay towards the newer one would go a very long way in turning your current one into a very dependable off roader that looked...
Interesting and amusing thread.
How about everyone just does what works for them and everyone else just minds their own business?
What works for you won't work for everyone else so just leave them in peace.
