While I am also a big fan of the Weber Q grills, they just aren't convenient for transport. I leave the Q at home and travel with a Primus Kuchoma. It's packs down nicely and goes into it's own bag to contain mess and smells. It's probably not *quite* comparable to a Q in terms of grilling...
Welcome to the forum and congrats on the purchase.
While I understand that you may be excited about finding a trailer that works for you, there is really no need to disparage all other trailer manufacturers and their customers. If this is the trailer that fits your needs then great! Others may...
I *think* the only way you could do this would be to send a message from one device to the other (which is, strictly speaking, sending a message from one account to another). The sent message will contain the GPS coordinates of the sender. I don't think there is any way to automatically push...
That sounds like a good solution. For what it's worth, I've been pretty happy with my Garmin Overlander. It took a bit of learning but now that we're used to it, it has been a great tool.
If one of them could control your switching and support the cameras that would be pretty slick.
Well, you'll certainly need less wire if it's mounted in the engine bay! Running wires (especially heavy ones) neatly and safely all the back to the bed can be pretty difficult unless you have access to a lift...
It may or may not matter much to you but you'd also lose the use of the ammo can...
What wiring do you need to run through the firewall to mount in the engine bay? Seems like it would just be a switch wire and you could put a switch under the hood if you REALLY want to avoid running a wire through the firewall (which is, in itself, not really a big deal).
I have a Decked...
Any owners of these vehicles in Maine can start an LLC in Montana, transfer ownership to the LLC and have the vehicle registered in MT. Nothing Maine can really do about a vehicle registered in another state and it's just loss of revenue for them...
I wouldn't recommend the "dead space" in the Decked system. If you need to get at the compressor for any reason you'll need to disassemble most of the system -not a lot of fun. Will the camper interfere with access to the ammo cans at all? If not, that's probably a better bet.
I'm curious as to...
Well we're WAY off topic now but don't get me started on the drone! It turns out that you are not allowed to fly a drone on ANY lands administered by the Park Service (all NPs and nearly all National Monuments, National Recreation Areas and National Wildlife Refuges). Even some National Forests...
I was not talking about taking pictures in the general - most of us want to document our trips in some way. What I was talking about here is specifically "action" shots of rigs "conquering" obstacles. Unless the purpose of your trip is specifically to capture these types of photos, you are...
I think this is often overlooked and one of the main reasons for all the comments saying "it works for some types of travelers".
It is important to think about *how* and *where* you expect to camp and where the bathroom facilities are going to be in relation to where you camp. I've stayed at...
The only way to keep that setup "simple" is to keep the house battery completely isolated from the starting batteries and charge the house from solar only. If you don't draw anything from the starting batteries you don't need to worry about keeping them topped up while camping.
That setup is pretty similar to what we use but I'm curious as to what you might need the cleaver for?
If you don't already have a good storage solution then I highly recommend the ATC Camp Kitchen.
SOVAHandcrafted on Etsy makes good quality knife covers for decent prices too. They have...
This is a great write up! Glad to see you making things work for you and, most importantly, getting the family outside!
I hereby award you 10 "ExPo points" for your adventure into the grass, 12 if the grass was at least slightly damp!
We have a squaredrop but the issue still applies. I'd...
Pretty much anyone who manufactures a DC-DC charger has "reverse engineered" what the cable does, the cable is just a lot cheaper than a good DC-DC charger (i.e. the cable is simply a cheap, low power DC-DC charger).
