    F550 Flatbed Build

That would be a shame if the G124's are not available in 19.5 any more they are quite a bit more aggressive than the Michelin tires. If money was not a great concern there was a link on the portal a while back on a company back east that converts F550 etc. to fire pump trucks and field rigs...

    F550 Flatbed Build

Hi Bob, If it helps at all I have 19.5's with Goodyear G124's that I'm very happy with. They have excellent traction in snow, ice and water and superb lack of wear. The wheels are Vision's, same as sold by Rickson and I would be quite happy to have these tires and type of wheels on a 550...

    My new Honda EU1000i generator

After successfully running my Yamaha 1000 propane conversion generator for two long trips and about a dozen short, I have to say it rocks. The way it sips propane is awesome. One thing to do if you have a large battery bank, is to wire the 12 volt plug directly to the batteries, or in my case...

    Alaskan Camper Build Up

With time on my hand this winter I came up with a few more projects for the camper. The one thing the Alaskan camper needs is a better door. Don't know how to design it how if it could be done, but it leaks cold in the winter and has a minuscule screen. After a little thought and help from a...

I have a 5.5 cu ft Nova Kool in our camper and run a Engel 45 as a freezer in the rear seat of the truck. 420 amp hours of battery power with 180 watt solar recharge. Works great for longer trips! Nice to pull out the steaks on day 22!

Do I need to plug in during cold weather?

I really don't need to plug in unless the temps are below -20. Of course it will always be happier with a warm block.
