I have him blocked, but judging by the responses Billie is telling everyone how to live/think again?
Don't take it personally, he does the same to Canadians as well.
Your old tires were 285/70R17 correct?
Interesting how close in diameter the two are. I'm curious to if you took the weight off the mounted rim and tire how much closer they would be?
And how worn the old tire is
You can unplug the heater and use a meter to check resistance of the heater and then do the math to find the approximate wattage. If the circuit reads open, the heater circuit has a problem.
One thing I'll tell you I'm jealous about is you Southerners who don't have to deal with rust.
It blows my mind when I see people not only finding, but buying, fixing/modding and then wheeling 20 years old rigs!!
There are a few early 2000s vehicles I miss, but majority of them are rusted out...
What do we figure the reasoning is behind not having the large fuel tank available on a double cab?
Could be a Canadian thing I guess.
A TRD off road SR double cab optioned as I would drive it is $56k, actually cheaper than an equivalently equipped F150, but gas the 22 gallon tank. Fiddling with...
Let's be honest here, safe to say 9/10 north Americans with wide tires out past the fenders doesn't leave pavement.
And yeah just enforcing what's on the books would go a long way.
Just like having manufacturer put some decent headlights in from the factory without having to move up three trims...
I can agree with much of this.
I'm frequently blinded by people running LED in their halogen headlight assembly. Especially from Honda civics of a particular generation, and the ubiquitous 2015-17 F150.
If OEM didn't put such substandard headlights in the base trim, would be less of an issue...
The Intech... Explore? with a dual tip out would check the sleeping arrangements, but no toilet option.
Trailmarker never offered a bathroom option when I was looking, nor a tip out bunk (I'd have jumped at a rear tip out bunk, dinette where the queen bed is in a standard Up & Out if it was an...
Have you looked into modifying a Casita maybe?
I for the life of me can never remember his handle but a handy fellow here beefed up the frame and suspension on a used Casita. I'm sure it weighs a lot more now but he went from a 4Runner to a Tremor 250.
There used to be some sort of bunk option...
I'm curious to furnace model and general design on this one.
As an HVAC Mechanic I see lots of improperly installed and poorly maintained equipment, which are the main risks.
There aren't too many particularly unsafe designs out there now.
Interesting, in Canada it's a limited slip on the FX4 and not a locker that's available.
Current gen Sequoia TRD is over 80k CAD locally.
New gen Tundra SR TRD Off-road can be had mid 50s CAD locally.
I just build a Tundra SR double cab with TRD Offroad package (Canada) for 56k CAD before taxes freight and PDI
Seems like a better value than a similarly equipped F150 right now, as Ford has a 301A F150 with rear locker, tow package etc in the upper 50s since there are no discounts or...
It's irrelevant for guys like me who can't spend 90-120k on a vehicle.
(Also remember in Canada everything costs more than USA)
Sharing a lot with the Tundra sure seems like it will help out on the aftermarket side. Must save money in production in general.
This is a reason I ask
The oil monitor and the standard service regiment is one thing, but if you can find out what they consider "normal use" I imagine a lot of us here do not meet the criteria of "normal use".
I just paid $74 after taxes for a full synthetic oil change with Motorcraft filter...
I'll take a closer look at Nemo
The Forte 20 is a $280 CAD locally. If it's actually warm then that price is fine.
I use a Balaclava when sleeping. Easier to dry out than the bag.
Thanks for answering. I like seeing people use tents in well below freezing temps, and am always curious to how...
The Transit gets all my KMs and let's be honest in MB everything revolves around Winnipeg, and you don't go all that far.
COVID killed multiple road trips the Fiddy would have been used for. And the hot summers had air conditioning demand higher than I've ever seen it in 17 years. Hence almost...
What are you running for sleep gear in an unheated tent if you don't mind me asking?
The days of going out more than a half dozen degrees below freezing and sleeping in an unheated tent are behind me. But we've been out in -35C with the wood stove and most of the tent was below freezing anyway.
