I think they are sweet and honestly, not THAT much more than a peice of plastic...
... I think they are more for scraping on trees and rocks, I would bet they would work great with the load spread out over the entire fender flare.
Just another .02

I have found the ones at Harbor Frieght to be identical to the Northern Tool pneumatic tires. Mine bolts on and off of my Bulldog swing away jack stands skid.
Hope it helps.

Hello-
I thought I would throw this out for you...
I used this spindle from Iron Pig Off road and it is working flawlessly.
Tire carrier swing out Spindle
Scroll down a little it is a super heavy duty 1.5" shaft and bronze bushings and a weldable sleeve.
For the price it is a good deal, IMHO.
Yeah, I was shocked, I didn't even have to do that much. I walked out for around 40 bucks and didn't have to do ANYTHING! it is kinda scary what could be on the road without any inspection.
Glad your up and running.
Drew
You might search for weld-on "Lift off" or "removeable" hinges. Welding stainless is a little tricky when you are attaching it to the steel trailer. But something that bolts on might be more up your alley.
As for latches, I really like the de sta co line of latches found at McMaster.com try...
Sounds awesome! I would love to build an indy suspension in the future, funny, it seemed daunting just 9 months ago when I started, but now it seems within reach.
Make sure to start a thread when you get building.

Brad, I have gone back and forth on whether I would build or buy now, there is a real satisfaction of doing everything myself... even the mess-ups and quirks I can laugh off because I did it all myself.
If you have a 101, I would modify it for sure. I would go with AT's suspension or fab one...
I got the lock and roll as a gift! So that pretty much made my decision for me, but it is better on every level!
I haven't weighed the trailer yet, but I am thinking I am somewhere around 800-1000lbs with everything bolted on... but dry.
I would do LOTS differently. I am going to make a...
Thanks Martyn-
I'd still love one of your trailers, but sometimes it is more about the journey than the destination. I thought building myself a trailer I would come out ahead in the $ department. All I can say is your trailers are the best deal going for the price. I can't really see how you...
Search for motorcycle tent trailers and a few little guys like that pop up. I really like the design. I was in Moab a few years ago and a couple pulled up with something similar to what you posted using a Honda Civic to tow it, and in about 5 minutes they had a sweet little campsite all set up...
Thanks Mike- Your trailer was a real inspiration to me so thanks!
Also, if you ever want to show off one of your carbon fiber tents and have me tote it around the country, just let me know ;)
Thanks for the compliments fellas, I appreciate it.
As for time and money involved. Take your initial thoughts on money and double it, and your initial guess on time and 10x it! :D:yikes:
Started assembly today... it is coming together nicely!
Still lots to do, if I knew then what I know now... AT is the best deal on the planet for a quality trailer! But it has been awesome building this myself too:sombrero:
Here are a few pics after spraying the trailer down with 1976 Toyota FJ40 "smurf" blue. :D
It came out okay, I am stoked with how it came out, it should keep the rust down if nothing else ;)
I can't imagine you'd be able to tow that much with a subaru. There are lots of trailers out there, that wiegh much less than that if you are looking to expand your cargo capacity. I'd bet you could get something fully loaded under 800# if you look at some of the composite/plastic cargo...
