TheGillz Explo Off-Road Trailer via Geotracker90 Build!

Looks great! Keep it up. Just a thought before you burn everything in, you might want to make sure as the axle swings rearward you have the clearance between the fender and the tire that you need. Sometimes setting the rear fender back just a bit more than the front is a good idea when the...

    Horizon Trailer COPYCAT

I'll back that up, both Mario and Martyn have given underdog DIY guys like me, free expert advise, when it came to me building up my home made trailer. For crying out loud, some of the areas they spoke into should have come with a price tag of expert consultant commission proportions! :D It is...

TheGillz Explo Off-Road Trailer via Geotracker90 Build!

I am the one on mud with the concerns it could end up rear heavy. I would imagine if you stuff that cargo box full, both side boxes full, and add a RTT, you will have significant weight behind the axle, if the deck stays empty it looks like it could be a bit heavy towards the rear of the...

My scratch built expedition style trailer build up thread

I am a craiglist/ebay junkie, all my kitchen stuff is used, I bought a deep bar sink off craiglist, I will use a coleman stove, a shurflo faucet/pump, and I may mount my ARB freezer fridge on the slide... I like having it on the trail with me so it might stay in the cruiser. As for the water...

Personally, I don't think the duct tape tailgate latch will last long off road :D ;) Looking great! Keep it up!

My scratch built expedition style trailer build up thread

We are up and running now, trailer follows great, and has been a treat to drive around. Tent is mounted, decals are on, and we are camping in it this weekend for the first time! :D Still to come: make the kitchen slide out with sink, stove, fridge. Mount up and plumb the new water heater, sink...

    Between trip parking?

I think you are on the right track, obviously, the sun and water take its toll over time, so if you can minimize those two things you would be heading down the right path. Do you have the option to make a "carport" or a solid roof over the trailer? I have my doubts about fabric enclosures.

    M416 Project

Scott looks really nice, you were one of the first to post up a resto, I can remember looking at your stuff way back in the day. Is that correct? Have you had this done for a long time now? I remember seeing it on another site or something. Looks great, can't wait to see the bed when you are...

    I'm stoked on fuel prices!

76-78 are great years, with the 79 and later models being cool too, but the gear ratio for wheeling isn't great, 3.70's compared to the 4.11's of the other years. Get one as unmolested as possible, and as complete as you can afford. Drew

    Between trip parking?

I would say it needs a place in the garage or at least a bit more theft deterant place than the street. Do you have a side yard, you could fence in a small spot for it.

    Trailer Usage and Desirements

An AT Chaser with RTT and custom drawers/boxes fits your bill... all except for the aluminum part of it. Awesome guys to boot. That said, I built mine from scratch. It does what we want it to do, store our gear, have water, sink, shower, stove, RTT, 12 power, charging systems, and soon hot...

    "Our" trailer build

Sweet stuff guys, looking forward to it, I just fininshed mine after 10 months of building. I would make one suggestion about the flooring. In retrospect I would have bought a used truck bed and cut out the floor and welded it into my trailer. The formed metal makes it super strong and keeps...
