I have a friend in Pueblo selling a 4x4 G van for a killer price if you want the info. He is a solid guy and a few members here know and would be willing to answer questions or send pics if you don't buy his van.
for the money I spent I want max use from mine so it is either running in the rig or running at the house.
My home fridge runs 24/7 so why not my ARB fridge :)
tupperware
wire baskets from Goodwill or Container Store
Sheets of Kydex cut with slots to interface with basket sides
I mix and match all of the above depending on trip to keep things sane in my ARB 63
great pics and an area I have been too and enjoyed also
Just like you we escape the desert heat in the summer and Colorado always rewards us
thanks for posting and keep the trip reports coming
Let them bring friends....
Do some trips with other vehicles and let your kids ride with others...
Do stuff...play cards, archery, cooking, hiking, only us old farts want to just sit around a campfire :)
Talk about your life and use this time to have real conversations about your mistakes...
Burb all the way :)
Blazer wheelbase is just short enough to not handle off road whoops and stuff to my liking.
The truck cabs feel small when it comes to off road travel and I should know as I have my granddads 72 long bed truck as my lowered hot rod.
For camping you can't beat the sleep...
Dang my secret is out :)
Yeah Nick who is here as nobins with a really nice 72 Burb running a Cummins 5.9 and man trans has been my go to mechanical guy. Not because I could NOT do the work myself, but because he does it so much nicer while I am at the hospital earning the cash to throw at him...
Really cool to see you guys getting the rig out while it is in still getting tweaks, too many people wait till things are perfect.
Now I just need to get you some more habano cigars to enjoy in your travels :)
Thanks for the great red tool roll and when you are back in town I need to get some...
So of course I am going to vote for the old iron as an overlanding rig....and I even daily drive mine :)
Now my commute is 5.5 miles each way so honestly I could bike except in the brutal Phoenix summer and my rig has been 5yrs of tweaking to get just what I want.
But my smiles per mile is...
Great to see more old iron on the forum and even better than you are getting out and using it so much.
The family history is super cool and please post more trip reports and interior shots of the truck and camper.
You have to realize kids only need dirt in the outdoors to be happy.
Take less stuff :)
We actually starting taking MORE stuff as the kids got older since after 5yrs old they need more than some sticks, rocks and bugs to play with.
Then came the slingshots, archery stuff and longer hikes.
But...
Howdy Everyone,
I have known Waymon the seller of this van since beyond this rig when ran a GX and it was also an immaculately cared for rig.
My wife and I were just in San Antonio and climbed all around this very very nice van, if I had the cash to drop on the table I would have done so the...
I am looking hard into this so I wanted to share the info I have found so far in case anyone else wants this killer deal.....oh and I won't be offended if you move faster than me so no hard feelings.
I called both FCA Canada & FCA USA and neither will give a compliance letter to the original...
