Re read how big the family is. No crew cab truck has enough seats
Ford Transit 4x4 conversion? Also mega dollars. I mean the aftermarket ones with real 4wd and low range, not the AWD available with the 2020s.
LT275/70R18 is good choice as lots of selection as is Super Duty FX4 tire size. Going to be a bit stiffer than OEM P rated tires tho. Might be able to find factory take offs for cheap. Aka guys taking off tires for MT 35s to put on their bro dozer that doesn't see gravel roads.
You could fit on...
I'm on ford.ca, an XLT with FX4 package has 275/65R18 which is a 32 and it has a two speed transfer case but only electronic limited slip.
I've honestly not looked at higher trims as the XLT is honestly too loaded up with gadgets for my liking and out of my price range.
I'll fiddel with the...
@jadmt
Where can I send you money? You have so many relevant wheel/tire combo photos it's surely saved many people from buying a tire they would regret
How much driving do you plan to do and how long do you plan to keep the vehicle for?
What kind of driving do you want to do with it?
If you want to keep a long time I'd go for whatever you can get with the lowest mileage, OR, one of them you can confirm is mostly easy highway miles.
I was fiddling with the builder on ford.ca and noted some clashing with option packages. Choosing HD towing gave u some or most of the FX4 options but IIRC I couldn't select both. What size are your tires? The ones specified by the program suggested they were 32s only.
How much bigger do you...
Can the CVs handle the travel? You added a LOT more than stock range of motion already.
If I'm not mistaken the previous generation Ranger was modeled off the 10th Gen F150 so I'm imagining the suspension layout in my head based off my old Ranger.
I remember there was some coil over conversions...
Low ground clearance, independent suspension, lack of aftermarket, would be my guess.
Lack of armor.
You can have gobs of power and towing, and tons of room tho.
What the Jk/jku guys forget is the wk/WK2 platform can also tow and offer decent highway manners.
As this is an expo page and not a rock crawler page, I'm surprised to see all the jk guys on here reminding everyone without an extra low range transfer case and selectable front and rear lockers...
Is Michigan a salty winter nightmare sort of place?
I had to get out of my WJ due to rust and the fact everything was 14 years old at the time and everything that broke was a PITA to replace because it was siezed or replacing it caused the next part to go.
Didn't have the time or money for it...
I'd go dual swing out boxes at the tailgate end and maybe a pair of fixed boxes at the cab end, but depends what your uses are when not sleeping in the back.
The aluminum truck Ford swing out boxes are a no drill install, and you can remove the boxes without tools. (Not the mounting frame, just...
How tall are those blocks??
Looks like you squeezed those in there! Are you running an extra leaf as well?
How do your leaves like the flex and travel they are doing now?
Mine are shot from being overloaded for years, and I get lots of noise and twisting from them when flexed like that
