I was told "If you go 99-04 axles you can get hubs to run 8x6.5 and 35 spline outers."
Can anyone elaborate on how, and how much it costs to convert back to 8x6.5 ?
More than a used rear axle?
Thanks. Do you remember the wms measurement of that ford drw D80?
My 97 cummins is SRW D80 rear (dodge hybrid) so hopefully it might fit. If my 97 wasn't snowed into a Iowa corn field.. Id be all over it. I really need to move outta suburbia and build and live in a machine shed .
He sure...
Thanks Tgreening.. I ramble to.. That drw to srw , even though doable , would cost more in the end but good to know. Any guess on how much? so I can subtract that making a offer?
I couldn't find much info on the super 60 in a E350. The super 60's I did see, had low gear ratio for...
Yeah see now that might change things.. Iv been dismissing DRW trucks because the front axle is wider I believe. Now I see swapping hubs can turn it into a srw. Not sure of the cost though..
$500 for the entire truck :sombrero: That's what I paid for my 97 12v
No its a single rear wheel. I better get a BOM even though the owner says its a D60.
Isn't a DRW D60 front axle different than a SRW D60? I'm reading it's only the hubs which need changed from drw to srw, on the front axle..
I dont think he's scared of anything. He wont do the work if...
So Iv located both.. A 87 kingpin front axle from a F350. And a 99 BJ F350 D60.. And I bought a running 97 cummins 4x4 manual parts truck.
If I pick the 99 my mechanic will banish me, but sounds like its bolt on with Chris's kit. If I pick the 87 kingpin... Are there any other obstacles...
They are good points.. The only reason I was considering a king pin is my mechanic prefers them. It his preference. And I imagine he would be rattling off why he prefers them if he was here now..
And I'm not in love with a D70HD. But upgrading to a D70u isn't worth it over a D60FF...
But, if I pick up a 99-2000 , I would only need the front end , as they were 8x6.5 and would match my existing wheels and also bolt up to your kits..
One last question about the king pin Chris.. Is building my own inboard spring hangers the only challenge? And whats the perch width difference...
Neat truck!
Your situation was kind of like mine..
I bought a 12v and assumed it was good to go. I was unaware the head gasket was already failing, and hooking my toyhauler to it was the straw that broke the camels back.
The damaged head gasket pressurized the oil gallery starving the...
Oh I understand now.. move the tank to the rear, find alternative spare tire location, then run a centered diff truck axle to match my centered cummins engine..
I wonder just how high of a lift is required where the mid tank wont interfere with a centered truck axle..
Please direct me to one! lol as car-part.com wont search for cutaways.. only srw or drw
I'm confused regarding the D70.. I know I want a SRW D70HD but have conflicting information regarding them.. Mainly , if the DRW E350 D70 works in a srw application without offset rims.. If so great.. If...
Thanks for taking the time to explain that..I will have to pick up the angle finder and measure soon..
But now I'm a bit concerned about the the output shaft on the np205 T-cass on my NV4500 I plan on using, and its offset compared to the offset of the a ford front D60 I plan on using.. No...
Id like to buy your spring and hangers but source my own axles. I was speaking with a forum member who urged me to use the 86-91 king pin is why I'm considering it.
Would moving the perch's on a king pin D60 allow me to use your kit designed for 99-04 axles?
And would a 99-04 SRW F350...
So I'm back to where I was a few years ago after a complete 6bt rebuild.:coffeedrink:
Iv got a 1995 E350 with a intercooled, turned up, cummins engine which is centered, not offset on the chassis.
Back when I bought it, I planned to convert it to 4x4 and began compiling information.. Should I...
Is that right?
I had no idea my featherlite's monocoupe construction was inferior.. But it sure is different without the main frame running under the entire thing..
Installing 4" lift
I guess Im stuck with the big thing for now. So Ill concentrate on the 4x4 conversion.
nightmare trying to get correct pinion angles.
Sorry I don't know much about sterlings other than ujointoffroad uses them.
But you did just open up a big can of worms about pinion angles.. As I mentioned my engine is centered, and my axles diff is offset to the passenger side..
Does that...
