"hub" same as "Wheel bearings"? If so, I got 100K miles out of my front set while wearing much heavier 32" GY duratracs tires. Rears are original with 140K miles. When mine got any play in them the lugs in the Duratracs rubbed in the upper A-frame.
Like most of the vehicle, its wasn't primarily designed for offroading. The hydraulic sway bars primary purpose it to sense cornering situations and tighten up by closing the valves. Then on straight roads it opens up to more gently absorb bumps. It does unlock when the Terrain Response is...
Eric, If you use Instagram checkout his history. There is bunch of 60sec reviews on driving the D5 for a week. https://www.instagram.com/lucky8offroad/
I occasionally have the opposite but maybe related problem. Mine will only read 3/4 full after filling up (19+ gal according to the pump). I run a bottle of techron fuel system cleaner about once a year to fix mine.
The supercharged RRS has enough power to turn 35"s. It also has "disconnecting" hydraulic sway bars. Just wish there were some slider, sliders, and bumper options for the RRS.
Just the rear sway bar. It broke, so I tried a week without it...felt fine, so turned into permanent. Surprisingly not much different on road. On off ramps it feels like an extra tire on the roof. Glad I run normal ride height on road. Definitely more articulation though. Might have to...
Great discussion. Thanks for testing out the tire sizing options. Duratracs are discontinued and Im due for new brakes...Going to 17" and like the skinny idea! I used to easily fit my 275/26r18 Duratracs, but with the rear sway removed, I ripped out my wheel liner on the most recent KY...
Sorry - fixed. Google photos is such a PITA. Used it a few times this past week. It worked but thermal shutdown way too often. Im going to return it for a new one and see if that fixes it.
The LR3 bumper might be shorter than the LR4s. I tried and tried and tried to fit 2.5" spacers between the frame and winch tray, but its really not needed and just causes all sorts of bumper fit issues. 4 cutting discs later, I decided to mount directly to my 2006 LR3 frame. The bumper skin...
D5 will make a nice addition to the fleet. I think the 2007 LR3 were still "Chawton White" like my 2006. Thats the classic creamy white and my FAV of all the white varieties. GLWtS
I have a Dometic CFX-40 and love it. Got it on Amazon warehouse deal for about the same price as a YETI. Only complaint WAS accessories are difficult to source in the US (Looks like slide mounts, insulated covers, and remote monitors are all in US stock now).
Id love to do a solar project, but have not needed it yet. I have a Dometic 40L that runs 12-18 hours every night on the stock battery no problems. My LR3 is wired for a 2nd, but I stole it years ago for the ski boat in a pinch and never replaced it. We wheel all day to the next camp site, so...
Fair enough, but I have sat in both and driven a rental explorer many times. The exploiter is more than capable to deliver what 97% LR owners are looking for in mall parking capabilities and better looking than the D5 - it only lacking in exclusivity. In this day-and-age of Instagram/Facebook...
