Regardless of what axle or motor the truck has, an F250 or F350 is not even remotely close to being limited by its hardware. The limiting factor on these trucks is the little yellow sticker on the door.
Tremors are identical except for the sticker on the door. M275, 10R140 transmission, same block and leaf pack. The 7.3 Tremor gets a lighter coil spring than the diesel Tremor, but it’s the same spring whether 250 or 350 as long as the motor is the same. Gas non tremors vary on leaf pack, block...
In which case you did your research wrong. The 250 comes standard with a Sterling 10.5” rear axle not a Dana 60. The 350 SRW comes standard with a Dana M275 rear axle not a Dana 80. The 250 can be optioned with the M275. The Sterling 10.5 was used in the 2011-2016 F350 SRW though, and is plenty...
bed length doesn’t change between F-250 and F-350. Both can be had in short bed and long bed configuration, and they’re the exact same length for each. Obviously a 350 can be had in a dual rear wheel setup that a 250 can’t.
As far as springs go, a 250 comes standard with a lighter rear spring...
I live in the south (Texas), and I can count the number of 2WD Alumiduty trucks that I see monthly on one hand. They are very few and far between. Previous generations were seen considerably more often. Not so much these days regardless of trim.
I love my 22’ Tremor, but I miss my 17’ 350 CCLB. If I was to reorder today I’d go with a 22’ 350 CCLB 7.3 XLT FX4 4.30 gears, then spend the saved money on suspension, tires, and armor. My Carli 2.5” springs with Accutune Fox 2.0s is a much better ride all the way around than my Tremor...
Costs at the time of order was $390. Cost to regear now would run about $2500-3000. Not worth that much IMO. The 10 speed won’t be as effected as a transmission with less gears.
I’ve got a set of springs/shocks I pulled off my 22’ Tremor at 6K miles for sale. These will provide 2” of front lift for a non Tremor 20-22’ F-250/350. $350 in Lubbock TX, but I travel all over TX quite a bit for work.
The 4.30s will be behave more like stock gearing with stock sized tires. The 3.73s with 37s won’t accelerate as well, nor will it maintain overdrive as well at highway speeds. It will hunt gears a bit more unless you lock out 10th and possible 9th as well.
I had a 17’ 350 SRW Super Duty and now have a 22’ 250 Super Duty. I just installed the Fox 2.0 DSC Adjustable shock from Accutune at almost 7K miles. I’m very pleased with the ride and performance of them so far. Limited to streets, gravel, and some rougher lease roads so far, but they’ve been...
I had the factory Halogens in my 17’ 350, a close buddy has the Morimotos in his 19’ 250, and I have the factory LEDs in my 22’ 250. I’d absolutely add the morimotos to my truck if it didn’t come with the factory LEDs, but I think the factory LEDs have a slightly better tone. Both blow the...
Don’t forget a jump pack such as a Noco GB70. Other than that just the basic hand tools and recovery gear. I also keep a Milwaukee impact wrench in my truck cause I’m lazy and hate using a tire iron. Lol
