especially in a third world country
still thinking of getting one though because i am about due for a new van and I cant get another awd express.
love the shape and roominess but hate the small wheels and low stance.
Thanks for the reply sg1.
That is exactly why I want bigger tires. I like to camp right on the beach sand in my chevy express AWD and to do that I air down to 20psi to get a nice long footprint.
Looking at some of the Transits I have come across , it does not look like airing down is much of an...
I wonder how big a tire you will be able to get on these . Will the awd be a limiting factor for aftermarket stuff?
Those tiny wheels are a deal breaker , would need at least 30 or 31s for the places I go in the baja.
I have so many questions now.
10 speed transmission ? Is this a good idea? Is it in any of their trucks already?
What sort of pricetag?
Any chance of getting those little flare outs on the side to increase bed length like the sprinters have been spotted with?
I am an odd mixture of skeptical and...
Good prices on both vans. In Denver , they would be more.
I prefer cargo if you are doing a camper build. The passenger models have ac and air bag systems that are a ********** to remove.
Also the windows are terribly placed for most layouts.
With a cargo van, you can put in windows where you like...
Vanagon owners have dealt with this for years.
Get stated insurance and have them fight the other company for you when you get hit.
Also you fight any settlement you dont like. I have seen guys battle for a year over a syncro westy that an insurance company thought was worth no more than a 2wd...
Start with the Baja, its like training wheels, super easy and will shake all the bugs out of your systems.
Stop paying a mechanic to do ANYTHING on your rig. You need to buckle down and learn how to do this stuff on your own because you are likely going to be wrenching out in the middle of the...
I am down here now in bahia de los muertos, and can check tecolote tomorrow. Seems like there are enough of us down here to check most of the spots in the gringo trial
The price is going up on these vans. Not enough made to meet the secondary use market. Everyone wants one for the same reasons you want one.
Engine is pretty bulletproof but the transmission sucks for towing and if you do to much , you will kill it. That is really the only weak link though and...
That combination with the access panels and awd is insanely rare to find.
I looked for years and finally gave up .Not a bad price either , I am guessing its rusted to hell underneath
You paint a rosy picture but I am down here right now and I can tell you its no picnic.
I have been knifed several times since I got here and picked up numerous STDs even though I have had no sexual contact whatsoever.
No one with any sense would come down here.
Its just not safe .
Stay home...
And its available in gasoline which i much prefer as desiel is supposed to get very expensive in 2020 and I hate all the emissions stuff.... still , the idea of paying that much for a ford cargo van is upsetting somehow.
Not saying I might not do it.
I am camped next to one now and except for...
