The 4L60E trans is terrible for towing. I had to put in a new transmission as soon as I got my van because the previous owner towed a 4000 pound trailer on mountain interstates occasionally.
I almost upsized when I went to BFG KO2s but ultimately decided to stay with the stock tire size since the gearing is already so tall.
When you are crawling along on a bad road you really miss the torque when you have oversized tires and no Lo gear.
No sticker in the passenger jam and no evidence there ever was one there. Mine is a 2009 Chevy AWD . I am pretty sure its all stock except it does really well in the sand so I always wonder
Does anyone have an a arm brand that they like?
My upper bushings are shot . Cant tell if my lowers are as well.
Anyone have an amazon link for arms that worked well for them?
Hopefully he will answer soon as I am also curious.
I can tell you it damn sure wont go up.
My van started with the same 18 to 20 MPG and is now at 14 to 17 and this is without a hightop .
I added:
2 inch lift ( more like 1.5 inch)
BFG KO2 tires
340 watts of solar
Solar hot water heater...
I used to transport my 91 y/o grandma in a westfalia vanagon.
I would put a step stool in from of the van side door, she would climb in with assistance and some hand holds.
I would have the front passenger seat swiveled around 180 so she could sit down as soon as she got in.
It was then a simple...
17 MPG is on a good day. My buddy has one and he gets closer to 14. Another friend with a full size van and the same drivetrain gets 21. If you dont drive this van just so , you will use a lot of fuel.
Has anyone for a 5x7 projector led headlight set that they like?
There are many on Amazon but the quality seems tough to verify.
I dont want to be one of those horrible humans that blinds everyone with unfocused powerful headlights.
Really need some better lights for baja this winter.
Aftermarket carpet kits for the front of the van are cheap for even the prior model of express. They are also molded and cut perfectly with vinyl sewn in under the accelorator pedal
Doing it will flat carpet is not nearly the same.
