Question about donating a rig....is there an age that is too old?
I would hate to buy a 60's or 70's vehicle then find out there is some goofy import restriction that says it can't be given away.
I filled her with water and tested for leaks...none
good shape with a scratch or two from travel, nothing major
How about $30 shipped UPS ground to your door?
Well what do you know....let me think on what I would want for the bits & pcs (it raises the cost of my "free" shipping) and I will pm each of you tonight.
Why Blue have I got a deal for you...
only $998 for the panels and I will throw in a backup tent for FREE...operators standing by ;)
For now I would like to see the entire setup go as a unit. If I can't work something out after a bit I might consider parting things. But it makes such a great...
"A" Jensen
not just Jensen, like look at that Jensen (which will make people correct you that it is a Jeep)...
but more something said with awe and wonder like "wow look at that, it is a Jenson"
or even when looking at another camper/RV you will someday hear people say "yeah it is nice, but no...
The absolutely best fridge is the National Luna and Paul & Ben over at Equipt can get you setup. I have run an Engel, a Luna & an ARB and the Luna uses less power and is a great fridge.
Currently I have an ARB 63 which I like as low & long as that works in my current rig.
It all depends on...
Let me look as I think I have a black one that I got to try as a solar shower but never ended up using it.
I will take a pic and pm you and we can work something out.
1966.....well I would be cool with another old iron rig on the maya rally even if you did bump my 70 burb as the oldest rig
I really like the Travelall's and an ambo conversion is even cooler
get working on it and let's see some trip reports!
I like the idea of calling it "A Jensen"
Earthroamer might have built the camper body and Jeep may have built the chassis but this thing came alive under the hands of Paul Jensen..
So just as we would say "A Stienway" or "A Stradavarius" or "A Bugatti" this thing is "A Jensen"
You might find that it helps to add some sort of small spring to give your risers a bit of give when they hit a branch. Otherwise you will either break them or stretch them over time.
Great job making something for yourself though.
My wife and teenage son are interested in flying in and joining me closer to the end due to work/school schedules.
It would be good to have suggestions on the website on airports that will be close to the route. The sooner the better as I am sure millions of people are flying around then.
Also...
Hey Christian,
Just as a poke in the ribs....I would change the words Expo/OJ under what your fees cover (and maybe elsewhere) to read Expediton Portal & Overland Journal as I am sure you will attract non-Expo people and we want them to know the inside joke.
I showed the site to my wife and she...
Ok here are some pics of my Kitchen Pelican that I made using spray expanding foam and plastic cling wrap.
This is what you see when you open the box. No rattles really and I used most all the space. Of course I want to redo it again to try & get a better layout but hey I am happy for now...
That is soooo cool!
So would you be in need of a 1970 Suburban as any sort of support or chase rig?
I am fluent in Spanish, been to Baja plenty of times, Wilderness EMT & ICU RN for medical needs, Ham Radio Operator and handy with a wrench.
What a great story and I hope I can help...I have...
Funny the things you see on the roads in Mexico...
Yeah driving at night no bueno mi amigo.
Looking forward to some updates, pics and even videos if you have a chance. But more than anything looking forward to your thoughts and stories as you travel.
great engine!
parts are not cheap but they run forever depending on which model you have.
The 300D was not a light car so no worries about wgt but it was not a fast car either :)
There some great forums for the older MB's and I think we have a few people around here who know their way around them.
