This tent has made the Expo rounds as I bought it from JefferyScott who got it from another Expo member.
I actually only set it up in the backyard once and in the park as seen in these pics once.
My intent was to use it with the family but my 1970 Suburban gives us a big ol' sleep inside space...
I hear all ya'll.....
Lots to ponder...but since it is been a while since I posted and pics I figured it would be good to let everything know the rig is getting used on a daily basis.
I did a quick overnighter to help a buddy test out his new trailer
Oh and this is my current rear setup...
I...
The next morning we tried to work the trailer a little harder as Waymon got to know it better.
Big thanks to Waymon for a great mean and excuse to get out of town (I needed it)....I like his setup and think it will be fun to watch where he takes it.
What really was cool was watching the big ol' bed slide out and double the space inside the tent. I liked that Waymon could have climbed in and slept without sliding it out if he just needed to get to sleep quick.
Yeah I like the simple sleep inside setup of the burb...but the popup comfort...
Well I finally got some time away from work to sort the pics from my overnighter with Waymon to check out his cool Neon.
I will admit that I was very impressed with this little trailer. The footprint is about the same one of the basic box trailers with a roof top tent. But the useful inside...
Great build and looking forward to seeing how you setup the cargo area
Nice to see someone stay mellow with their build and use the rig to travel & play
On the gear ratio thing with 33's
I cruise 60mph (speedo pretty accurate by gps) and the engine running smooth, not lugging, not on the throttle hard.
4BT where are you located?
Very Very cool...
amazing pics & write up..
Now please take this in the best way possible as I want to see many more videos of your treks..
put could you add some captions in the videos so we know where you are in various scenes and anything at all to help with the shake would make the video so...
Jack..I get what you are saying...
but there is more than just fuel savings at the pump..
using old motor/trans oil
using veggie oil
running propane also to save $$
greater mpg = longer range on trips...this is a factor in Baja more than anywhere else
All that said I am seriously looking at...
Great info Andrew....thanks for that.
Yeah Nick...I have actually been holding Martín my 14yr old back from digging into the interior & paint for the engine...he wants to make some $$$$ :)
My concrete for the new workshop/carport gets poured in the am so I will finally have a place to play...
Good to hear from you Bill....your thoughts are always welcome.
My wife was saying pretty much the same thing...except in her case it was something like this:
Veronica "Is there anything wrong with your engine now?"
Me "No, but I only get 10mpg so not much range"
Veronica "Don't you have a big...
and many people were sad.....
The concept is great, the prototype was very cool and the materials where way ahead of the curve...
there are those of us with secret hopes that the Habitat will result in more solid tent contacts so this project can come back from the cobwebs
Andrew I figure it is good to post info in the thread vs pm so others can learn and chime in....if that is cool with you then hear goes...if not then pm your response :)
you got me interested...
I like the sound of the 6.9 vs the 7.3 just for the lack of cavatation issues if nothing else.

Now I am even more impressed to see how you took something basic and worked it around like that.

I really like the mini-van seats in mine...
Our flat floors means it is easy to swap in anything you want. Some guys have had great luck with modern chevy truck seats that have the intergrated seat belts.
Not to argue your paint choice....buy dark green on a blazer just looks to military for...
The 25 year importation rule in the USA just means you need to know the month & year of manufacture and you can figure out if it can come in.
I really like the 93 and wish I had the money to buy it and hold it up north until the 25yr rule was in effect....or maybe just let MountainPete drive it...
So with my wife being the office manager of a diesel engine machine shop I do have some options...
BUT consideration #1 is that I have to have an AUTO trans...I sold my mega cool Aussie Toyota diesel Troopie cuz the manual trans killed my fake leg.
Consideration #2 is that I DON'T want to lift...
