That would be a pre '83 body style and it was a aftermarket dual rear wheel setup. Toyota did do a factory rear dual wheel truck in the mid 80's and they rated it as a 1 ton truck, It came from the factory with a beefier axle and had larger brakes as well and was designed to have dual wheels (IE...
Jeremy, great write up on your trip! Doing the Rubicon with your family has to be the high light of your year for sure. Can't wait to read your trip report on your Escalante/Maze/White Rim/Overland Expo run.
BTW, Jeremy is a whole lot better driver than he gives himself credit for and I can not...
My KM2's (255/85-16's) have been very smooth running up to 80 mph, I haven't been over that speed though and have about 20k on them as of now. I did have a little bit of a issue with the OEM KO's, one tire in particular but was able to get it to balance out eventually.
I have wheeled with a RTT on a 3" lifted FJ Cruiser for almost 4 years now and have not had any issues, I always keep in mind that I have a RTT though and pay attention to what I'am doing. Trails that I have done with it in the past include the Maze (out to the Doll House), Kokopelli Trail...
I think your asking price is set at a reasonable amount. My brothers 2011 Krawler was over 20k with all the options he has on it. Also unless things have changed waiting time on getting a trailer built was over 3 months, you could have this one now and by the pics it looks like it has been taken...
Yes. Mine did not have all the bells and whistles but if IIRC it was around the 1900-2000 lb payload limit. The Apex ready to go put me well over that.
I had a '05 Power Wagon that I bought new and I put a Outfitter Apex8 on it. At the time I bought the PW I told the sales rats that I planned on putting a pop up camper on it and no one mentioned to me at the time of purchase that Dodge did not recomend putting slide in campers on the PW. It was...
That pretty much sums up the Tacoma guys feelings at the Expo that I talked to as well. Everyone loved the camper but it's to much camper not enough truck. I would think a Power Wagon would be a great match up IMHO.
Did not know they made a mini truck version of this camper. Price seems fair to me, although mine was a better value since I was including a new set of tent walls that would cost about $700. Also thought it was funny that they used a picture of mine in their ad.
My '08 FJC TT has been pretending all over the southwest for the last 5 years, most recently at the Maze and on the Kokopelli Trail (for the 2nd time in the last 9 months). Also I would rather be in my FJ than a Jeep if a bad accident was to happen.
It will run with a dead battery, but not a bad battery I.E. one with sulfated cells. A CT 90/110 has what is called a battery ignition system (what most street bikes have) which requires a battery in the system to run, as opposed to a magneto type ignition system (used in most dirt bikes) that...
I was a motorcycle mechanic in the 70's-80's and literally worked on hundreds of those. They are great little bikes for what you plan on using it for, fun to ride and will last almost forever if reasonable care is given to them.
You didn't mention if it is currently running or not, if it was...
Fireman78 that's what it's all about! Glad you were able to have the quality time with your daughter, she will have those memories for the rest of her life.
Cool, I just ordered the same lift as you. Also running the same tires. Already did the BMC so maybe I should bump it up to 35's..
Well there are advantages/disadvantages with 35's for sure, but you will find that the pizza cutters work very well. I went with the heavies since I'am a little...
Awesome, do you have a build thread on here?
Finally picked up a spare tire and am currently weighing my options for lift kits. Leaning torwards the OME kit.
No I don't, but I need to do one.
I put on the OME's a couple of years ago and have been very happy with them, went with Mediums up...
I purchased a Apex8 in '06 and had problems from day 1, mostly with the roof but had several smaller issues as well. The first issue we had with the roof was that it was almost impossible to lift it up with the hand crank alone (in fact the handle actually broke!), I had to have the wife push up...
Propane will leave a sooty residue, one of the few downsides of a propane campfire IMO. I carry a brush to knock it off before I pack it up each time, if I do this it's not much of a job to keep it clean.
I just did the Kokopelli Trail with Jon last week and have to say that this trailer really impresses me every time I see it. Jon did a great job getting it down Rose Garden Hill (without brakes on the trailer I might add!) it only drug in a couple of places and not that bad when it did. I may...
