I used techflex for the battery wiring on my Tacoma. Great stuff. Good abrasion protection and doesn't trap stuff, as stated. It shouldn't build up/retain heat like other solutions either, which would require larger wiring. Use some adhesive heat shrink at the ends to hold it together...
I have spacers from impact3d as well, for my sprinter. Pretty damn easy to order CNCd spacers that match the roof and ribs of the van. Much better than stacking gobs of butyl tape IMO.
Same here, the screens look great. I need to find someone local to make something similar.
Thanks for continuing to post updates. Just because we aren't commenting much doesn't mean we aren't reading. ;)
I think you're going about it wrong. If you're intention is only to run heat while the truck is on.... just install a boot in between the truck cab window and canopy window. Crack a window on the canopy and run the truck's heat. Trust me it will push all the hot air through the back, I did...
The breaker bar isn't enough. The track bar NEEDS to be VERY tight. Get it properly torqued and make sure you haven't messed up the mounting holes from not having it tight enough.
I didn't get any torque specs with my ujoint leaf spring setup either. I spent a lot of time chasing little...
You'll have to drill new holes in the floor. The sienna seats take up considerably more space than a factory bench. I wouldn't use them if you need to use both rear benches as well. You'll need to mount them quite a bit further back than the first factory bench in order to climb in the side...
Wise industries sells a fiberboard kit with carpet that is probably the easiest/quickest way. It is "okay". https://www.realtruck.com/pro-van-carpeted-cargo-liners/R182189P2010Y2652MA.html
It is quick, easy to stuff some thinsulate sound deadening and reflective insulation stuff in the walls...
Haha
Well I'm (hopefully) out of excuses to keep changing rigs for a while. First we had a kid, then a second, then a job/location change etc which were all excuses for something different. I keep saying it but hopefully this one will stick around for quite a while once it is properly setup...
That's a killer dealer on this Tundra! I've ridden in this one and it's very nice, very well setup and super comfy hauling some weight. Pete is the only guy I know personally who buys, modifies and sells rigs more often than I do. But he builds solid vehicles, applies good common sense and...
10k lb trailer weight, but what about gross combined weight? I'm betting the ujoint equipped van is already pretty heavy.
How often are you moving the boat? It seems like it might be easier and safer hiring someone to pull it, if it's only a couple times a year.
I never gave it much thought. But the motorized sliders on minivans are kind of handy.
2 things come to mind for me. It could be nice as my 1 and 3 year old can't operate the big door. On the other hand, i don't know that I want them to be able to open and close it!
After a quick search...
On my Tacoma I used a blue sea ACR, with three matched agm batteries. The starting battery was under the hood and the two house batteries under the rear seat. Charged from the alternator and the 300 watts of solar on the camper roof. I sometimes worried about driving somewhere and shutting...
6" ujoint, 35s and slider with MG's extended slider hinge. Works great, does touch the tire for the last few inches but no big deal. A slightly different wheel tire combo would clear easier, shorter wheel adapters etc.
I didn't want a slider at first either, but there are a lot of great...
My dad built one of these and it definitely helps. It isn't going to be very effective at cooling a space, but it will blow cold air over your skin for hours which is a huge help. He is using a simple 12v computer fan on his. Most of the time I've seen him use ice cubes and it seems to work...
That's my favorite calculator too. Personally I always run the numbers and still gear lower than stock, for additional performance and to help with the additional rolling mass and drag. Depending on the vehicle (especially diesel) a person may not want to follow that pattern though. You...
+1 on the switch pros. I haven't installed mine. I have a stack of parts that I was waiting to install with a complete interior. If you want to see the switch pros unit I could probably swing by Wednesday. It's pretty slick. Check out their YouTube videos.
