Vanilla Gorilla: 2017 Power Wagon build

Just spoke with my friend at Falken who forwarded me the pressure chart. Looks like my math is spot on at 45/50 PSI for equivalent load rating and suggested I start at 45/45 for empty and 45/50 for loaded. We’ll find out!

Not with RAM projectors no - but i have used them in the past and seen their retrofit kits used in housings. Im not terribly pleased with the RAM projectors. they're not bad - but they're not good either. A lot of room for improvement if you're going to super sharp cutoff with extremely high...

its your call, but i would encourage you not to do HID's without doing a full retrofit. The Retrofit Source has a 4" FXR drop in projector that replaces the stock one. This would also allow you to use OEM components. A proper HID retrofit shouldn't cost less than $1000 all said and done...

    Ford Expedition advice

honestly if you have another 5 grand to spend and want the least amount of headaches and things to fix possible, get a first gen Sequoia. if you're set on the expedition - its a great truck if you are aware of what stuff you need to take care of. the warnings of the 3V engine's spark plugs are...

    Headlight & Taillight replacement

There is no difference in filament position or orientation in an HIR bulb vs standard. So, it’s capacity to dazzle would be based on the quality of the reflector itself. There are a lot of modern vehicles shipping from the factory with HIR low beams these days.

i just sent my contact at Falken a message. He's the product manager for LT, so if anyone has it its him. I'll let you know what i find out. yeah, really pleased with the upgrade. I've finally sourced an LED that looks like it might be a winner for fit inside the projector housing. Its not...

Vanilla Gorilla: 2017 Power Wagon build

I’m using the tire pressure/weight loads that are molded into the sidewall of the tire. The factory specs are 60 front and 65 rear. I did the math up in the weight of my truck vs the load rating of the tire and found a 30% margin from what was spec’d and what it actually weighs.

AEV's monthly Live Q&A was Thursday and Matt said that they've figured out the air-ride issues for the Recruit suspensions. So it looks like the Rebel and other air-ride equipped 1500s are going to be viable alternatives now.

    Ford Ranger Debut

not sure where you're located, but thats not the case here in the midwest. our local dealers stock gas F250s and 350's (just a couple) and they're all $10k cheaper than the diesel ones of the same trim level.

the trucks not equipped with sunroofs have massive head room - i have one. im 6 foot and i have easily 6+ inches above my head sounds like a defective windshield - i have yet to experience that in my truck from the driver or passenger position.

trying to do the math up on what tire pressures i need to start with to develop a baseline. i came up with 46/48PSI for max load on the new tires with the OEM 30% safety margin. anyone want to check my math and see if what i came up with is accurate? Untitled by Will Marshal, on Flickr

I explained earlier, but an effort to minimize any road manners loss. I’m not going trying to fool anybody - this truck will spend most of its life on the road traveling between places. But I’ve elected to go with beadlocks on this truck to negate the side effects of the larger wheels Offroad.
