    3000lb everyday towing? Tacoma

My 2nd gen 4.0 tows that weight fine going through hills but fuel economy takes a big hit. I'm always towing an open trailer with ATVs or snow machines on it with no aerodynamics to it so an enclosed trailer like yours would probably be better.

    2nd vs. 3rd Gen Tacoma

Buying a 2015 2nd gen is a much better idea than a new 3rd gen. The 3rd gen has a ton of problems, a weak engine, poor transmission and poor quality control from the factory. Don't pin your hopes on getting better fuel economy from either generation. They tend to drop to around 10-12mpg when...

    2nd Gen Tacoma Engines

I have an '11 4.0 auto and don't feel it is gutless at all. I have a front bumper and winch, sliders, 33's, roof rack, RTT mounted on the bed and plenty of weight in the bed for most of the summer. It has no problem cruising 70mph, going up hills, passing vehicles, etc. In the winter I don't...

    Dual battery jump starting question...

I just self jumped last week using my ML-ACR. A simple push of the button to engage the solenoid and connect the house batteryand I was able to start the truck right up. The starting battery was dead, wouldn't even click the starter over.

the very beginning of a Tacoma Build

A heavy duty topper, a RTT with the ladder enclosed in the annex, and a Foxwing awning with the sidewalls. That will give you a ton of covered space and keep weight down.

    COMEUP Winch Official Thread

If you have any influence on the online sales do you think there's a chance of offering the DV9S for sale on Amazon? Using Amazon Prime is one of the only ways to get heavy items like winches shipped up to Alaska at an affordable price. The DV9 is offered through Amazon but I'd really prefer a...

    Front runner footwell tank

These two would seem to be better options. They keep the water out of the cab and don't require two outlet lines routed from the tank. I considered both for mounting directly behind the cab in the bed of my Tacoma but stuck with two five gallon scepter cans instead...

You can find reviews, pictures and personal experiences with most brands and models of RTTs in this thread. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/the-rtt-owners-thread-with-bs.312269/ I have an ARB Simpson III and my only complaint is the ladder. I plan to swap it out for the telescoping style...

    Dueling battery question

Mine is setup with a fuse between the primary battery/ML-ACR and secondary battery/ML-ACR. That should prevent an overvoltage from the alternator from reaching the ML-ACR/second battery and any overvoltage problem originating at the second battery from reaching the primary battery.

    Dueling battery question

You can also skip wiring the internal switch for the ML-ACR to make it easier. If you want to connect the batteries for winching or a jump start just switch the ML-ACR manually.

I'm not sure what the difference between the Sam's Club and Batteries Plus Duracell batteries other than price and warranty. The labeling is slightly different but both say they are Duracell Ultra Platinum batteries with the same exact specifications.

I've been looking at these batteries. At half the cost of an Odyssey, Northstar or similar battery they are attractive.
