It's on my "bucket list" to attend/watch it sometime. I didn't watch the video but I think it should be at least the 60th anniversary of the original events, which were held in the early '50s and had quite an impressive list of U.S. hot rodders/racers involved in them.

I'm following your lead on this. I have a 12V compressor install planned to replace my Powertank so I can blow the truck out frequently on longer trips. I've become mildly? obsessed with sealing things up after a dusty trip last fall.

How many beers did you have in the fridge? Were they cold when you put them in the fridge? I have an Engel and I've learned a few things in the past few years that may be of help to you. I think of it as a practical application of those thermodynamics and heat transfer classes I took 20 years...
Speaking of the front control arm relocation brackets, I can't find any mention of them on the AEV website anywhere and I looked online at one of the supplier's websites and it said "discontinued". Are they still available?

Probably a NP241 t-case. Good unit. The short rubber line on the one h-boost line is fine - that's the low pressure return to the p/s pump. Replace it when you swap and it'll be good.

Many years ago our 4WD club adopted a portion of the Crown King trail for a time. I was doing some trail cleanup (picking up trash, etc.) at Oro Belle when I came upon some quad riders stopped for lunch there. I walked around/amongst them with my "grabbers" picking up cans and papers and they...
Just came across this thread when I was searching for another topic. In the "olden" days, some off road race vehicles (including one I co-own) had suspension seats in them to help compensate for lack of suspension travel. The ones in our truck are Bostroms. They have several inches of travel...
Great trip report, Lance! Our Bronco club does an annual trip along the shelf road portion adjoining Cherry Creek nearly every year in October. I've never done the complete route to the Salt River, but I'd like to. It's fun to take the Cherry Creek road the whole way north and come into Young...
That abandoned gas station/stop at the bottom of the canyon is where you used to pay for your permits before heading out into the dirt. I noticed last summer that it was closed too which I thought was odd - considering the traffic on that road, as you mention.
Looking forward to the rest of...
10-4. We're blessed with a lot of pickies here where we can disassemble and pick out bits at will. They also have the flat charges for engines, transmissions, axles, as well. Many of our yards look like WWIII if the vehicles are there for any length of time.
A few years ago I took a friend...

Couldn't this D44 be easily swapped to discs with junkyard parts like the same vintage 6 lug 44s? Or are the 8 luggers closed knuckle or some other combo that doesn't lend itself to an easy spindles-out swap?
There are plenty of 1/2 and 3/4 ton Chevys in the u-jerk-its here in Phoenix that...
