The front is an AAM 210, different than the XD and different from the old Dana M205.
The rear is also different than the XD, I forget what that one is.
And the diffs are not interchangeable between XD and non-XD, the frame mounts are different.
I recall there were some transfer cases that had the park brake on them, very much like what you have now.
The other option would be to find in wheel park brake parts for your existing axle which probably exists. Or maybe even find a different donor axle with park brakes.
Those are the stock...
Drive one for work. Love it. We just picked up a new one with a new V8 that has a lot more power (375HP!) and is getting better mileage then the old V8. I've borrowed it a few times and really like them. I want one for myself. They drive nice. Easy to rack up the miles. The older ones...
The VG33 in the 1st gen is the power of a 4-cylinder with the gas mileage of a V8.
The 2nd gen is very good. Noticably better gas mileage, and power if you need it. Although if you are always playing with that power it will get a lot closer to the 1st gen in gas mileage.
The 5-speed in the...
Weight may be behind the axle, but the van is designed to handle weight of cargo. So not too worried about it. And the weight is nice and low, which is good.
I would call it a good place. Do it.
In the 80's you could get an 8-speed manual in a Dodge Colt. It was a 4-speed with a splitter. Had a friend who had one and out of bordom you can drive it as an 8-speed.
The 80's Honda 3-wheeler was a 10 speed(?) 5 gears with a high/low range.
Even C4 vettes had a 7-speed before the 5-speed...
If you do a Titan XD and plan to run a camper on the back there is an easy rear sway bar upgrade you can do. The sway bar and bushings off a high roof NV van will fit. It is noticeably thicker bar. But you don't really want this unless you have a camper that has the weight up there that would...
Any thoughts of using cork? Saw it in a flooring store and thought it would be a good choice. I didn't know they made cork flooring until I saw it.
Looks like it would hide dents and scratches pretty good and still sweep clean.
That 8-speed ZF is a nice transmission. How are you controlling it with the Cummins engine? If I could get those two mated AND WORKING together that would make for a sweet retrofit package. The only thing I have against the 2.8 now is finding transmissions to mate to it.
Don't see what the issue would be. My grandparents had Propane at the house at 7000+ elevation for decades. All the normal propane stuff worked just fine.
Propane has vapor pressure down to about -40. So long as it is at least that warm there will be pressure in the bottle. Considering...
I read that clip about 5 times. Nowhere did it say anything about a 2019 model change. It barely even hinted at anything really. And where did you ever pull up a 2.8 cummins? That engine only passes emissions for 1999 and prior. A lot of things have changed in emissions in the past 18...
My ARB frinde dates back to about '08.
It lives half it's life in the back of my Xterra. Even through the week. Most of the time not powered up.
It is living a perfectly good life back there. I power it up before doing a grocery store run (a couple hours if possible). Nearest store is 7...
For reference point, I have a 70W rated solar panel with a PWM charge controller that does a real nice job of running an ARB fridge (in fridge mode, not freezer). Fixed panel mounted flat on the roof. I really wanted a 100W panel after doing all the math and factoring in the losses (and there...
I still love the other sites that claim this great mod and use vinyl aquarium tubing for the vent line. Tubing that has a temp rating of 150 - 180°F depending on what numbers you look at. My axle temps after a long highway drive are an easy 200 and often over 225°F with a little towing.
Did my extension when nearly new. No filter. Countless OEM axle breather hoses are just open. They work just fine.
The filter is over-engineering paranoia thing. As for what little dust might get into an open hose, it will just stick to the walls of the hose.
