Cable glands large enough for Goal Zero 8mm connector?

What about passing an insulated metal stud through and using ring terminals to just connect the wires on the outside when needed? You can also buy pre-made wiring bulkhead connectors or flanges that can be capped with threaded pipe fittings.

    Drawer Slide Recomendation

When I bought mine, they were per pair. I bought a pair of locking and a pair of open and then used one of each, selling the other pair here. It was at least 5 years ago, maybe more, so I don’t recall the source. looking currently at the Accuride website, 9308-E5 is a pair with 1 locking and...

Working out the kinks in solar system.

You seem to have hit on it yourself, but I would change the panels to series and I’m guessing that will make a difference. When I chose my Victron MPPT (75/15). I read the stuff about needing 5 excess volts to initiate. I have 2 panels at 100W each, and it is fairly common for the combination...

Accuride. Years in, no issues. Not sure of the series, maybe 9300?

ARB Fridge doesn't seem to be staying cold for as long as it used to

You can change the thermistors in them. I’ve never done it, but it sounds pretty easy. I would verify it against a second thermometer first. Not that this will change cycle times, but I would also make sure the coils and compressor compartment are completely clean.

ARB Fridge doesn't seem to be staying cold for as long as it used to

Do you have an actual thermometer in it, or are you just going off the display temp? A good first step would be knowing if the display is accurate.

    One-Man RTT Mount / Dismount?

I went through a couple of different ideas, ramp, ladder used as ramp, hoisted to an a-frame…. Then I hit on the best one… Leave it attached and park outside!

I’ve considered but not tried because I’m worried about glare while driving.

    external key storage

Trying to increase complexity and ensure nobody finds your key…. Hmmm… Maybe put your key inside your spare tire? Then all you have to do is remove your spare, break the bead, get the key, reseat the bead, fill the tire, and remount it to get into your car! On the plus side, this key system...

Trail Marker Up and Out House by Rollingstar MFG !!!

Is Outhouse actually in the name or did you add something? That seems like a marketing choice that might haunt them someday. The cliches about quality almost write themselves!

P0303 cylinder misfire and 380km drive YES or NO

Good luck. I would start by pushing on each coil and seeing if you get any that “click” down onto the plugs.

P0303 cylinder misfire and 380km drive YES or NO

What does “no one here will touch it” mean? Where is “here”? Are you looking for a mechanic? Ask at the local parts store?

Sad End to This Cautionary Tale, As Folks Start to Head Back Out Into the Wilds, Pls Be Careful

I wear a surveyor vest with more crap than I should carry in the factory too. I’ve looked into various “tactical”/Molle vests in the past as I wanted the flexibility of all the worlds pouches but I needed the hi-visibility ratings.

    external key storage

I knew someone who hid a momentary contact button wired to the unlocking relay. I don’t know if he ever needed it in a real situation but I’ve been in locked out or close situations a time or two. Once the dog jumped on the lock button, another a friend locked the truck as we got out...

At a Project Crossroads... Unsure of Direction

I personally had great experience with my 6.2 truck. I started on an engine “refresh” at about 350k miles. It ran great but I had found a good deal on a banks sidewinder kit and wanted to check everything. It turns out I had 6 cracked valves, valve marks in every piston, cracked heads on both...

Pulled trigger on a diesel Excursion

So for “build” ideas you probably aren’t really looking for engine/drivetrain/ suspension upgrades? I can’t recall exactly, but wasn’t 04 a changeover year for leaf vs coil front ends? My 05 truck was coil by then, the 03 guy at work is leaf.
