Source and cost to convert dual-tires to singels on a MB lorry

The MRAP wheels (NOT M1078 LMTV wheels) have the correct bolt pattern and center hole diameter for use on a MB1017 and the like, but only as a front wheel. They have a step in the rim so they can not be mounted reversed on the rear. Also some have a built-in regulator that would interfer with...

Defender 110, The Ultimate Adventure Overlander Poptop - $40000 (Seattle)

Looks like the seller was truly only 'feeling'. A buddy has tried getting hold of him via Craigslist and the Expo, and he has gone dark. What a waste of time. The whole 'feelers', 'testing the water' has never made sense to me.

    2005 Unimog U500 Expedition Camper

Agreed! It looks like most of the cabin is unfinished plywood, with thin L-brackets and wood screws holding every together (putting 4 in does not help) It must have started in Austrailia with the cabin door on the left. A pretty weak ad. Ya, the most important thing is it is 16 feet tall...

Defender 110, The Ultimate Adventure Overlander Poptop - $40000 (Seattle)

First I would like to complement your truck. It is great to see a truck built for camping and exploring, as opposed to being a mall-cruiser. And wow, some very desirable upgrades you have done. A couple questions. Does it have any rust or corrosion issues/areas that would need to be addressed...

Fuso - Push bumper, Roo Guard, ROPS or ?

OK, I think this has gone too far in the protection area. A grill guard with ROPS roll-over-protection-system :sombrero: click to enlarge

    Exhaust gas temperature sensor?

I've been planning on adding a pyrometer to my Fuso and in reading up on them, while pre-turbo gives a more accurate reading, some people suggest post-turbo, so if the probe fails (mechanically, breaking off) it is downstream of the turbo and will not cause any damage. What are your thoughts on...

    Lowly the Lorry. . .

I knew I had seen something like that. It was called 'Mountie and Da Sheik' https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mountie_and_Da_Sheik I found a Blu-ray/DVD copy on eBay

    Lowly the Lorry. . .

Seems way too much. I think they just standardize the weight given the size of the vehicle. In searching the history of my truck, it seems all <supressed> trucks sold by <supressed> to <supressed> were all listed at 6,275.0 kg (13,834 lbs) regardless of the make of the truck (all were DOKA...

    Lowly the Lorry. . .

I think they have been switching back and forth between vehicles. The hitchhiker is cute, but I hear she talks nonstop.

    Lowly the Lorry. . .

I think the mpg rate is because the back of the 1120 is filled with boxes of Tim Horton donuts. Sheik emailed me some photos and his adventure is starting to sound like a movie I think I saw in the late 1070s? Synopsis Southern Oregonian Big Mog (Pat McCormick) and his son Little Mog (Paul...

Who wants to sell their Fuso?

Terry Lee Enterprises (Rob Pickering) can get you anything you need. Bill Caid has been operating his 1017A in the US for 7+ years now, big trips every year and no major issues getting a part (unless they were being shipped through Texas during a Hurricane). On the 'surplus' firetrucks, most...

Who wants to sell their Fuso?

So why not a Mercedes LKW? Underpowered by American standards (just like the Fuso, so maybe it is 'our standards' and not the ROW), but not a bad ride, non-electronic, huge selection of GVW (9-17 tons) , HP/TQ (130-330hp), cab, and bed length? OK parts support in the US and better in the ROW.

    Lowly the Lorry. . .

I think you are having one grand adventure (yes, sugar coating it), and you haven't even outfitted your truck yet. It is very interesting to read and I hope your 'real' travels are as exciting, but less dramatic. O- and can you bring me back a dozen Tim Horton donuts (the worlds best donuts)

U.S. alternative to Seitz top hinged windows

Ya, it seems like their prices have come down even more (at least on the larger sizes) The 550mm x 1100mm window that I bought in September of this year for $564, is now only $418, great price!

Who wants to sell their Fuso?

Not to sidetrack too much, but the photo is of a Steyr 12M18. A common misconception is the 12M18 and LMTV series are the 'same trucks'. They share the sheet metal of the cab (sort of), and nothing else.
