that is very cool....
any ideas on who makes the shell?
would be interesting to know if the AC only works when the engine is running or if they added dual batteries for the AC
thanks for the pics!
I am running an Acer Aspire One w/ 10" screen.
Windows XP and I will have to dbl ck ram & HD size.
I run Delorme Topo & Ozixplorer at the same time with GPSGate (alt+tab) to switch.
Been running this combo for almost a year I think no issuses. Can be slow but doesn't crash.
I still need to check with the other guys to see of anyone got a pic of the chair in action in Baja.
I feel bummed in that I had my camera charging and only got the chair out to practice putting it together.
Matt had a seat in it and he is a big boy, the stitching ripped and I got so flustered I...
I had is mounted to open on the side and hood on my FJ Cruiser, and a buddy had his open over the rear on his.
My thoughts:
If you have a changing room attachment then over the rear is a great way to access your stuff and change clothes, use the bathroom, shower and all.
If you don't have a...
My only concern about insulating the tool box vs the fridge directly would be the heat trapped inside the tool box as generated by the fridge.
If you setup a vent to the outside of the tool box from the vent area of the fridge then you might be ok.
I am not a thermo engineer or anything, I...
I had some issues with my FJ Cruiser but I was way way over GVW...5400 is max and I would run at 6900 all the time with family, gear and such.
that is almost a ton over GVW....suspension issues, brakes going out sooner and such.
On the Sportsmobile, no problem. There are many of us who are...
I would run a transit bag (insulated bag) in the fridge itself instead of doing anything to the tool box.
I like the idea, alot actually. You could also relocate a second battery there and then put solar on top for a really killer setup :)
I am very sure you will get more post on this so I will just start with my thoughts...
I used to think like Hiedi-weezer above and have no combat gauze or quick clot in my kits...
however after some recent threads here I have done more research and reading and I am starting to rethink my...
And don't forget Nissan has a new full size van coming out that is based somewhat on the Titan or not depending on where you read.
Either way they really should look at making it a 4wd option as folks are happy to pay companies major bucks to companies that convert Fords to 4wd.
funny you should mention "medical spanish" as I found in this case and often even in the hospital setting you have to reduce to basic terms and keep it super simple.
Then there was the fact that I have never had to refer to a fish hook, wire cutter/dike, leatherman multi-tool and such...
great trip report...
one of the best things about "overlanding" vs rockcrawling and such is how family friendly it is...and letting your son drive is over the top cool.
Amazing pics as always, I am always impressed by your ability to capture a mood and a moment, job well done.
Expo is better...
They increase GVW...
the 9500 is from Sportsmobile
and there are alot of factors that go into GVW and it is not an absolute
plus there are some legal issues as I understand it if you spec something as a manufacturer that is above 10k lb GVW
sorry
WAVE
Wheelchair Accessible Van for Expeditions
it is a 2008 Sportsmobile camping van with mobility equipment that we use as a non-profit to let the disabled enjoy remote backcountry travel
One of the tough things about something like this is they make a big deal about how there are only a few spaces aval so lots of folks don't even try to put it together and then you find out there weren't enough people entered.
I seriously wanted to do this but the risk to the WAVE, time off...
