    Residential fridges

The original question was about using a residential fridge on an expo vehicle. I guess we all have different concepts of what exploring means or we can afford, Dr. Livingston. I've been out for a couple of weeks and this set up worked for me. By off the grid I mean stopped vehicle for several...

    Residential fridges

For my particular needs, a dorm fridge with an inverter had worked quite well. No long off the grid stays. I improved the insulation on the bottom, top, and back by adding 1/2" foam (1" in the back) and covering the door. The sides need to be open since the crappy USA mini-fridges have the coils...

Hold my Coffee ! another manual transmission swap thread

Two sockets and a hammer. One socket slightly bigger than the bushing as anvil and one slightly smaller as striker.

    1996 E150 shock options

May be your spring rate is too hard. Lowering the tire pressure may help. See what is the maximum load at max pressure of your tires and adjust it to the actual weight they are carrying. This improved a lot my ride.

Hold my Coffee ! another manual transmission swap thread

i just went through similar issues, but in reverse. I had the 1330 flange and i needed the 1410. Spizer has online catalogs https://d3qx1uccksbb2n.cloudfront.net/docs/j300-p2.pdf Catalogs that helped me find the one I needed. I talk about it on my build...

The Rig Runner ...a 2010 E350 5.4 DIY Coil Conversion

Drive Shaft. After breaking the driveshaft CV and having to return home on FWD, I noticed how much quieter the van was. I rebuild the CV and used the same shaftand, I guess, I got used to the vibration. Fast Forward to this Christmas trip. We drive 900 miles overnight and while my wife drives...

The Rig Runner ...a 2010 E350 5.4 DIY Coil Conversion

Maybe. It came with the van, the mounting brackets had been relocated, it was probably for an F350 or even a Dodge. Something like this: https://www.ranchhand.com/front-bumper-fbf991blr.html

The Rig Runner ...a 2010 E350 5.4 DIY Coil Conversion

Winter break is over. It was fun. I did have to use the winch. This nice couple got stuck in the snow on their nice F150. I din't have much trouble with on 4x4 and LSD. I think they had LSD as well, but tires made a huge difference. We also had chance to do some Snowshoeing and spend the...

Pics of your VAN! Post up!

Colorado is always fun. New winch and roof light bar. Hopefully the winch will remain an unused insurance

The Rig Runner ...a 2010 E350 5.4 DIY Coil Conversion

Winter break! Having fun on the snow. My friend was guiding me and kept asking me if I wanted to put the chains. No chains, no winch, no lowering pressures. We only got stuck once, but the horn took care of it.

    UJOR Build Thread

For the beaches in Texas you may not even need 4x4 for the most part. Some soft spots here and there. I do not bother with the pressures, 45 psi on 305/65/18 and LSD rear and open front. I haven‘t been south of Matagorda, maybe farther south the sand is less compacted, but around Houston you...

U-Joint Fuel Tank Shortening Kit OR info on "how much to shorten the tank"

This is how I did mine. I had U-joint template, but since I have the 5.4 with the 4r75e I didn't have to cut that far. More details here: https://expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/the-rig-runner-a-2010-e350-5-4-diy-coil-conversion.167666/page-5

Options for 3-point belts and head restraints?

They are two independent seats 60/40. You could fit just the 2 people seat only. You could also fit two of them and have a four people row. I think they will fit.

Options for 3-point belts and head restraints?

I replaced the lateral Tahoe buckles for the van's ones. I am using the original seat bottom frame and legs (shortened) to latch in the original seat brackets. I removed the Tahoe pivot frame and bolted the base of the seat to the van seat frame using trailer axle U-bolts. . If I were to do it...

Options for 3-point belts and head restraints?

My grief with modern van seats is that they do not fold. I ended adapting the seats from a Tahoe. Center has three point integrated belt, but no head rest. It should not be hard to adapt any SUV seat with a custom frame to the bolting of the van. The middle row from a Tahoe or a Explorer are...

    I'm Back! "The Paradise Project" 2012 E350 4x4 V8

I like your install. I installed a 52" LED bar on top of the windshield and the glare on the windshield is quite disappointing. My bumper down't allow me to mount it like yours so I'll have to wait until I have a roof rack and try to mount it further back.

Falken Wildpeak AT/3W - anyone running them? Opinions?

Update. One long road trip from TX to Washington DC, over the Smokey Mountains and several off-road parks with lots of slippery mud and some "rock crawling" (It is a van so no crazy stuff) and still love them.
