Recommendation needed. Road trip break down. AC repair Florida panhandle.

Van is being repaired. It should be ready tomorrow. I was quoted for $900 to replace the busted hose, new dryer, expansion valve, refill. Since labor is a big chunk, I decided to gel also the low pressure hose and new compressor for about $1500. This is what I was getting form Firestone at...

Recommendation needed. Road trip break down. AC repair Florida panhandle.

Yep, I was willing to pay some premium if I was going to get it fix over the weekend, but the situation was reaching a level of the Twilight Zone. I am at the waiting area of “Precision Tune Auto Care”. Decent Google reviews and they have picked up the van quickly. Let’s se what they propose.

All year waiting to take two weeks of and hit the road. First day the high pressure line of the AC blows up as we are entering Louisiana. Saturday afternoon of course. The only thing open is Firestone. Check a couple of them along the road and decided to drive to New Orleans and have them fix...

    Moog CC880 on 2014 E350?

They do fit. CC 860, 860s, 880, 880s!.... depending on your engine weight they lift more or less. 880 is usually the best option for the V8 gas and the 880s for v10 and diesel. Chassis wise, I’ll venture to say that any thing from 92 to 2014 will fit.

The Rig Runner ...a 2010 E350 5.4 DIY Coil Conversion

Some progress with the indoor plumbing. Water tank secured in the back, water pump installed, water lines routed. Outdoor shower is done, need to connect the front faucet and run a switch for the pump up front. Pump is on demand, but I still want to be able to shut it down when not in use...

2013 E350 Quadvan Build and Adventures

92 was the first year of this van body. Anything after that should fit. The back door still have the holes for the pop-out windows (at least on my 2010) I didn't have any issues. If you look at my picture above you can see the holes and slots for the pop out latch at the bottom of the window...

New here in need of some direction

That Chevy looks like the best deal by a long shot. I'll get the Chevy for $3,500 and never look back, unless you neeeeeeed that 7.3 PS. I converted my Ford to 4x4 and I can not picture adding less than $8,000 to convert that 7.3 (more like $15,000 and lots of sweat).

    reseal fixed windows

That's a high price. I've used flowable silicone so seal leaky windows without the need to remove them. Of course, the right way is to remove the window and re-seal. i recently replaced the rear door windows with pop-outs and used RTV silicone. As Martyn mentioned these windows use screws to...

    E350 Interior noise and steering?

Try without the steering stabilizer. I installed a double steering stabilizer and I had a feeling like the one you described. Mine was a Rough Country. I run 305/65/18 so my tires are smaller. Maybe you need a different stabilizer, but in my case, just after installing them, 4 hours into a 12...

2013 E350 Quadvan Build and Adventures

I like the rear pop outs and a maxfan. So far i haven’t used the fan to sleep, but just keeping it open with the pop out windows worked well. If you camp in areas where is not a big deal to keep the rear doors open, you can build a mosquito screen for the back. I used that on my previous van...

The Rig Runner ...a 2010 E350 5.4 DIY Coil Conversion

Finally I decided to tackle the problems I was having with the power seat. The bottom was moving up and down on an offset motion and sometimes I was sitting tilted. I removed the seat and took the bottom part out expecting to see some broken gears. It turned out that the back pivot tap was bent...

    "Q" Flight's RB E250 Quigley Build

Love the video. Yes the volume is low, but I was able to crack the speakers on my lap top. I miss the orange, but i understand wanting to lower your visibility, these things draw enough attention already.

As much head room as you have above the bed, you could build some leg extensions so there is more room underneath. For seating, you can build a storage box/foot rest at front.

Falken Wildpeak AT/3W - anyone running them? Opinions?

305/65r18 on my 4x4 van. After about 2,500 miles I love them. Quiet on the road, good on the snow (one ski trips so far) good road manners wet or dry. I can not comment on hard core off-roading, but as all around tire and aspirational adventurer, it has been great.

MOIRAI 1995 4x4 Fire Rescue BUILD Thread

Enjoying your build. I have the same inverter, 1100W version, and i like it so far. It can power the 700w microwave without issues and does well with a dorm fridge. I guess the "modified wave" is fairly decent. I got 1 awg jumper cables (copper coated aluminum) to hook up the main battery to...
