I will never recover what I have into this engine, but I must recover some of it!
This is an SD33T diesel from an 1984 Nissan Patrol. I had it built to the hilt in Australia and then imported it to the USA. The engine build cost me over $25kusd. It than cost me $5k to import, in the 84 Patrol...
I am leaving J-Hole and this is one of the major reasons why.
The place I live is for sale, 4.33acres in a sweet area of the valley. Two houses (major dumps), a shop (not up to code), a polluted well you can't drink, more weeds than 90+% of the properties here just to name a few issues...
Right on! We might cross paths, the road is kind of like that. I will be going slow though, my last two trips were fast, this one will be slow. How long do you plan to take to get to TDF?
Really at this point, as long as it is not the USA, that is all I am thinking about. We don't need to get...
Thanks a bunch for the positive feedback Frenchie! That is really good to hear. I have no desire to make a ton of money, just live a simple good life filled with what I love. I like to work but I got to have passion for it which I don't currently have.
Cheers
Hey all, I am a bit early on this thread but figured why not get it going now!?
I have been on the forum for awhile, built a lot of trucks and have done two drives down to Panama and back. Here is my two trips I did reports on here on ExPo...
Hate the low seating position, it's like you are sitting on the floor.
Can't see out of it very well, especially the back window.
The knob for 4wd is right next to the A/C-heater controls, I engaged it on accident.
Rear windows down but front up and it has a very loud and annoying, whomp...
Stunning pictures, amazing country and one sweet Patrol, even in stock form. The red is not for me but if you like it that is all that matters. Patrols have such a better designed suspension than the Cruisers, everything is up high and nice and tight, even the t-case is above the frame rails...
2006 and 2007 are the best years for the 100 series. 5spd auto trans and a little more power out of the engine vs previous years.
Find as low mile as you can is my suggestion. A 2.5" lift, some 33" rubber, a front bumper and a winch and a set of sliders. That is what I would start with, get...
The FJ142 got washed and waxed today. Such a nice body on this truck, seriously. I know mostly rear end shots, I like the back end on these trucks! It looks funky right now because there are lifted coils up front and stock in the back. The front coils are so "sprung" that the OME shocks I put in...
Well after nearly two weeks of busting my ******** everyday I have built an FJ142! :)
This is not a flex test, I am just putting wheels on and that kind of stuff. It is going to flex real nice though! ;)
Getting the frame back up under the body after pulling it out one last time to do final...
