    Trucks: Mid size, full size

Man, you gotta keep the bushel of kale and stinky socks from prying eyes!

    Trucks: Mid size, full size

It had the exact same payload as the Outback, which was around 1,000lbs max. Not much, but wouldn't expect it to be with the chassis and frankly how small the bed was. I still thought it was a pretty cool vehicle that has good utility factor. Same reason you have a topper on your truck?? :D...

    Trucks: Mid size, full size

I dream of an 8' bed someday. Reminded today when I trying to stuff my bike in the shortbed with a bunch of stuff already in there. If you're able to get away with an 8' footer, I'd definitely do it. Let me know how it goes. It would be money well-spent to test it out for the weekend. Make...

    Trucks: Mid size, full size

I did love squeezing into tiny little parking spots in that Honda. We unfortunately have some inconsiderate people here that find it needful to park over the lines by a foot or two. No prob with the Honda, though. :D Driving around was pretty fun, too. Like a little go kart. - The trucks...

    ZJ vs WJ

Gotta ask what type of trails we're talking here? Will the "weak" subframe be even an issue? - I had a 5.9 ZJ back in the day. Such a fun vehicle. Wish I still had it. Only had 135k miles when I sold it and it was solid. I love the design over the WJ as well (personally). -...

    Trucks: Mid size, full size

Dude, I went from a subcompact Honda to the F150. Talk about size gap! It did take some time getting used to, especially parking. Plush ride, "feeling" of safety, riding position, etc. were all positive. But like you say, midsize would feel maybe about the same as well. But you live in the...

    Trucks: Mid size, full size

I would have to say, though, would a compact pickup get that much better MPG, if at all? Even the current midsize isn't getting any better than fullsize trucks. Maybe the price point would be the main attraction, but again, comparing the current mid-size to fullsize, not seeing that, either...

    Classic SUVs?

I like the Expeditions, but personally, I would go with GMC.

    Friends, it's a sad day

I think there could be a few reasons: * Cargo space. Burb is bigger. * 3rd row is better in the Burb * Repair parts are more easily accessible. But the LX is an awesome vehicle. Wouldn't mind driving one myself.

What ever (and when ever) you get next, that should be its name--Dead Horse. :D

    Trucks: Mid size, full size

Cute-Ute's, like Subaru's, Jeep Renegades, Rav4, etc. No trucks, no body on frame, no low range (except maybe the 2-door Wrangler?). Subaru used to have the Baja, which I thought was a really cool car. Wish they still made them.

    Classic SUVs?

This is for a daily driver to schlep kids around? Just get a Tahoe/Burb/Expedition from a more modern era. Unless you like tinkering with cars on your days off, plus any other spare time you've got. And being stranded on your way to drop kids off at school or on a road trip. - I'd LOVE an old...

Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 first drive reviews

I notice the same thing in my wife's Subaru. It is LOUD, compared to my truck. And I've even got AT tires. I've heard glass tech has done some impressive things as far as sound insulation. I'm getting old I guess, because I appreciate that a lot now. I used to pine for catback exhausts and cold...

From a Grand Cherokee To A.....

Not everything modern is a bad thing, though. Safety, for one, was a major reason I went new. Vehicle safety has come a LONG way in the last several years. But I don't go changing vehicles every other year, either. If I'm being honest, I'm probably at a 6-year rotation. But only because the cars...

    3000lb everyday towing? Tacoma

There was an asterisks there somewhere. ;) - But I couldn't recommend a diesel for towing 3k lbs, even on a daily basis. V8 makes sense. Same MPG as the V6, same maintenance, better range and more room (with a full size).

    3000lb everyday towing? Tacoma

XD's definitely look more robust. Pretty good payload and towing power. More than I'll ever use! :)

You don't need a half-link when you have track ends. Just get yourself a good skewer (i.e. Shimano), and you're good. Never had any slip on my Surly's. But if that's working for you, then great.

    3000lb everyday towing? Tacoma

I'm sure they tow well. But the mere fact that it doesn't handle HD payload, nor does it even come close to best payload in the 1/2 ton class......makes it what it's marketed as--a half ton. Mine pulls well, too. Better than some 3/4 tons in ways. But it's still a 1/2 ton. - I live just...

    3000lb everyday towing? Tacoma

Tundra folks have said the same thing. "It's a 3/4 ton in 1/2 ton disguise." That cummins can definitely pull a grip load. No doubt about that. But that doesn't make it a 3/4 ton. I believe the max payload is 1,700lbs? You'll run out of that way before pulling power. Heavier frame...
