^what he said. I've had days where I have questioned why I'm putting my time into such an old rig when endless repairs seem to keep coming up. But then I go for a long drive when its fixed and its all better! Really digging those bumpers!

Even though I have a TTB AND an E4OD I love my truck most days. Hard to beat for an older, simple rig.

Finished piecing together what I needed to put a roof rack on the truck! Not planning on running it full time, but will likely need it when we head to CO for our wedding in July as we are making almost all the decorations and what not ahead of time and bringing them with us. I am heading out in...

    4x4 Diesel Chinook

There is a chinook shell on the classifieds here that popped up the day after I saw this post the first time around. Got my brain thinking!

Yup, I got a few cracks too! She will be getting a new windshield before inspection in october so if that fixes it, great. If not, more fresh air! As far as the alignment, did some reading on the tape measure today and I think I can figure out where I'm at. Thanks for the tip! I also have ever...

Could also be your HPOP draining back when it sits a few days or just getting weak. You can check oil level in the HPOP to rule out the drainback.

two torn Discoverer AT3 sidewalls in a year

Got ~4k on the set on my powerstroke so far with no issues. But my buddy with a set on his 1st gen tundra (not sure what load range) sliced a sidewall on the way out of hunt camp in the fall. He ran p-rated michelins for two years on the truck before that with no issues.

Put around 650 miles on the rig this weekend running down to Fruita to do some biking, camping, and romping around muddy desert roads. Truck didn't miss a beat. Have a leak somewhere behind the dash that lets a few drops of rain in if you go 75 in a downpour, but probably not gonna spend too...

Dang, saw this this morning and now there is a chinook shell on KSL. Might look good on my truck!

Well the shop was able to get the fuel system primed and all is well with the pump, putting out good fuel pressure. Still confused why it is fine now but glad to not write that check! Looking forward to doing a little work on the door panels in the next couple weeks then taking off on a Western...

Well, I think my fuel pump may be dead. Ugh! Was headed home yesterday and the fuel filter light flickered for a second when I started it, drove home fine after that. Figured I would change the fuel filter as it had been awhile. Noticed a little vacuum on the bowl when I opened it but figured no...

Couldn't help but think of this post when working yesterday. The hose I took off had a spring running the length of it, new one did not. Ran the piss out of it on the highway last night with no issues so hopefully my concerns are unfounded but I will be keeping an eye on it.

Well, got the new water pump, tstat, and hoses in the truck yesterday. Still think I have a little air in the system but she is running good! Sure is nice to have a leak free truck and not smell coolant after a long drive! Didn't do a full flush on the system as I didn't want to deal with the...

Thanks, have heard of that happening. Haven't had any overheating issues with the truck, just leaks, it actually runs cool. Waiting on my hoses, thermostat, and housing then I guess it is time to go to work!

Well I decided last week that instead of taking my cooling system apart and trying to fix the lower hose outlet leak and the heater hose leak on the water pump I would just put in a new pump, hoses, etc. that way I would feel good about the cooling system for my upcoming trips this summer...

What would I be missing/gaining...Excursion vs Sequoia??

I would keep the excursion personally. I think a sequoia would be too small for everything you have listed. With that being said the sequoia will be miles ahead in comfort on a long drive if you can fit. And far cheaper to operate/less to maintain.

For all the OBS owners out there, if you ever have a random popping noise in the front end that you can't find, check your fender bolts next to the hood hinges. Seriously. I have had a random popping noise while turning, going over bumps, downshifting on the highway, etc. for a while now...

Pappa, how many miles do you have on your wildpeaks? Had a set on my truck when I bought it and they were 5 solid ribs of tread with no siping left but plenty of tread depth. Have observed the same thing on other sets in parking lots. Also FWIW put 285 E cooper at3s on about 4k miles ago and...

Woo another crew cab OBS! Good looking rig ya got there. I would definitely regear or do taller tires before your trip, having the ability to go fast sure is nice driving across the middle of the country.
