    Payload of 2017 F350 SRW 8' box 4 door 4wd XL...

That'd be a sweet set up. But 1,900lb wet, so I'm assuming you're getting the HD payload package, which should get you 2,500lbs. Doesn't leave too much more for cargo after you add driver and passenger(s). Too close for comfort for me, but if you can make it work, it'd be ideal.

I like your collection. I haven't ridden a 26" bike in a while (although technically, the fat bike has 559 rims), but I am in the process of building up a dirt road bike. I acquired an old Gary Fisher frame, using some old CK wheels, v-brakes, and .... drop bars! I've got a 60mm stem on...

Looking for suggestions on a leveling kit for my '16 F-350

I don't have a SD, but I did buy some Autosprings spacer lift for my F150. I haven't installed it yet, but it got great reviews. Not expensive, either. I liked that it was made of steel. http://autospringcorp.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_5&products_id=41

I've resisted a lot of modern techs as well. Fortunately, there are lots of options in the "modern retro" genre. _ My Jones _ Blacksheep isn't too far from you, by the way.

Some bum snow removal company didn't clear the streets in my town a year ago, and it looked like that for a few days. That does suck to drive on. Rough, bumpy, slippery. Studded tires are definitely warranted there.

    Fat bikes

For trails around you and I, fat bikes on regular MTB trails aren't that much fun--you're right. I rode Heils and Devil's BB last year, and glad I wasn't on my fat bike (except a couple sections where it got pretty chunky). My main ride has 29x2.4" rear and swap between 29x3" and 29x2.4" up...

Considering 2015 LC with 22k. What to look for?

4Runners are cool. If I had <2 kids, I would look at those as well. With 2 or more young ones, it'd have to be an LC for sure. I've had 4Runners in the past, and even with 2 kids, cargo room gets eaten up quick!

May be time to switch up to winter (studded?) tires for this season. A/T's do ok for me, but nothing like some good snow tires and studs. _ But auto-4WD would be nice. Although I wonder if that causes more stress to the drive train going in and out of 4WD all the time.

I think the sweet spot correlates pretty tight to terrain. Typically, 2.4" is the sweet spot for me (a proper 2.4", like Ardents) on most trails. But there are places, rougher, looser trails, where 3" or 4" tires excel. With the advancements in the fat bike wheels/tires, I've actually enjoyed...

Yeah, tfl reviews are pretty much all lackluster. All of their "off road" tests are meh. Regarding 4wd/awd, just leave it in 4wd. Unless you're driving around the city on dry pavement, 4wd is fine on the highways, even dry. I blew a rear seal once, because I accidentally left it in 4wd city...

That's it. Pretty cool company. I wonder if a SS hub (i.e. King) could be fitted on there with 6 gears and clear the tire. I only end up using the upper half of the cassette anyway on snow rides, so it wouldn't be an issue for me. For summer, changing gearing should be easy.

Yeah, my old neighbor had one. Too urban blingy for me. Same with the Toyota Venza. I love more of the utilitarian look, which I think those old wagons had. Same with Transit Connect.

Yeah, but I want to be able to go into Autozone for parts. Not have it shipped for $$$ from Sweden. :D Actually, something like a Transit Connect probably offers the same cargo/passenger space. I wouldn't mind one of those either. Wish they had AWD.

You know, I wouldn't mind a station wagon. Not the cute ute Subaru I've got now. A proper full-size Caprice, Mercury, Impala, etc. Give me a modern version (faux hot rod Magnum doesn't count), with AWD. I could go a lot of places and haul a lot of stuff with a wagon like that.

There are fat bikes with a narrow Q factor. Tumbleweed makes one. I believe they're restricted to IGH, but pretty narrow Q factor. Wide stance doesn't bother me, though.

My old '01 Tacoma had a dash rattle, that I "fixed" by stuffing pipe insulation down it. I figure with as much plastic my current truck has, she'll belting out annoying Miley Cyrus-esque tunes sometime soon. Meh. I'll just turn up the radio louder (although talk radio doesn't really mask the...

I do daydream about buying a "real truck" of the '70-80's vintage. But if I'm honest, I don't mind the "transgender" trucks of today. :D It was near 0 deg last weekend. Thank you, seat warmers!

    Jeep to F150 HD SCREW...

It's been cold here (in UT), but I've not had issues with the windows freezing. And fortunately, no issues with the doors. The Ford's much bigger than my old Tacoma's, but it's been a good move. That boost kicking in going up Parley's is fun!

I've used the "Towing" mode on the F150. Only towing 5k lbs, but it seemed to do ok. Never really had to touch the brakes on steep descents. Now with the new 10-sp's, I'd imagine it would even be better. But who knows.
