    Starting a camper shell project

Yeah, I agree it would look better on a beat up F100. But it could still work. Give it a nice contrast. Maybe. Typically I have no clue what I'm talking about in regards to color-scheme, fashion, and general aesthetics (according to my wife), so don't take what I'm saying seriously. :D

Both of my auto's have manual mode. I never use them. Especially the Ford's, since it's this cheesy toggle switch on the shifter. _ The only time it has come in handy is driving down a steep, slippery hill. I could've also shifted to 1st or 2nd lockout, so in reality, the thing does...

    Starting a camper shell project

If it's a budget build, I would just try to sand, prime, and use quality paint to go over it as best you can.

I know older Super Duty's needed cab off to work on the motor. Is that still the case with '17+? I'm not too familiar with the SD line.

Here's what I found. The figures for Ford is off of their own website. Ram's is off of Edmunds (that's what popped up on the Google search): Interior (inches) F150 Ram MegaCab HR - Front 40.8 41 HR - Rear 40.4 40.3 HipR - Front 62.5 63.2 HipR - Rear 64.7 63.2 LR - Front 43.9 41 LR - Rear 43.6...

I like the recline feature of the Megacab. Lots of room back there. Looking at the specs, the new Ford SuperDuty's (and F150's) interior specs are about the same. Just something to consider. :)

It appears the ZR2 will come with an AutoTrac transfer case ("auto-4WD" or FT4WD). http://autoweek.com/article/los-angeles-auto-show/chevrolet-unveils-2017-colorado-zr2

PJ - you're right. When you build, they do cost more (I think around $500). However, when I was shopping existing new inventory, there was no price difference on ones with or without e locker. I wish all manuf had this option, especially for that cheap.

    What to do?

I'm running KO2's (275/70/18), and they've performed well, but I've heard great things about those Toyo's as well. Just curious, why the new bumpers?

From a well built Tacoma to a stock Tundra

I agree with you--I think people use the truck bed plenty. Even avg joe like me. Although I'm not dropping 2 tons of cinder blocks, or throwing sharp tool boxes at my aluminum bed every day, at least every weekend, it's filled with bikes, sleds, wood (bob fires up the canyon), etc. All it is is...

Truck + Trailer seem to be the ultimate set up. So versatile, and addresses the payload issue as well. If I had a trailer, I may even be happy with something like a 4Runner as well. _ Yeah, money spent on my truck....it gets to me at times. Before this truck, I hadn't had a car payment in...

Realistic price point for a 3" lift on a DD?

Basic reasoning concludes you don't need a lift. You're running roads that a Subaru can drive on. Save money, gas, etc. and stick with the stock height. Now, if you want it for looks....practical reasoning goes out the window.

You know, they make e-fat bikes, too! _ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmG7dpgd_pY _ Speaking of fat tires, I've been on the hunt for a TW200 for a while. Just waiting for the right one to pop up. It's slow enough I won't get in too much trouble. And it's cheap. Right up my alley.

Moab is nice, but I much prefer San Rafael Swells. Mostly because I enjoy the solitude. Last year when we were down there, I think we saw 3 people total. Lots of places to explore, awesome camp sites, hiking, etc. I'm fortunate to live so close. I'm sure you've got lots of places like that...

    2002 Tacoma 4WD Issues

Probably vacuum leak or solenoid issue. Sounds to me, you should take it by a trusted local mechanic.
