    Lhanson 1st Gen Tundra Build

Half inch spacers might be tricky. Most of the bolt on spacers are 1" or 1.25". Most of the slip on spacers are 0.25". A 0.5" slip on spacer would leave your hub studs too short to attach your lugs to. Maybe I did not read thoroughly but why not just find a wheel with 4.5 or 4" backspacing? SCS?

    *Rickashay's 04' Tundra* - A build of Compromises

Negative. The FX-R's are bi-xenon so they have a built in solenoid that retracts the cutoff shield for high beam use. LOL I see what you did there... UPDATE Got the diffs out today.... ready for the re-gear. Going to put the headers in while the diff is out to give more room too. Diff...

Replied. Thanks Gas mileage, whats that? Haven't really tracked it yet, waiting for the gears but I'm sure I'm in the 14-16mpg range on highway. Factory gears now but going in for 4.56's in a couple weeks.

    *Rickashay's 04' Tundra* - A build of Compromises

Retrofitted Tundra Headlights Ok some details.... I have 4 sets of parts available to clear out my inventory. All of the retrofits would include the following components: FX-R 3" Bi-Xenon Projectors (hi/low beam projectors): (TRS info here...

    *Rickashay's 04' Tundra* - A build of Compromises

Like Sean said, the major advantage is additional sidewall on the tire. However your still going to have decent sidewall on a 17" rim too. What size tire do you plan on running is the more important question - 32? 33? 35? I would say there are more 17" tire sizes available but it's probably...

2nd Gen Tacoma (vs 5th Gen 4Runner): Doors Squeaking

Same with my Tundra AC. Was thinking about adding a simple "roll bar" behind the front seats and tieing into the roof at some point to try and stiffen it up. Slippery slope... lol

    *Rickashay's 04' Tundra* - A build of Compromises

I love the SCS wheels. They are hub centric and super light weight so they reduce rolling resistance. Makes a big difference when you have heavy tires. I've ordered 5 sets of SCS wheels now and never had a problem. Designed for Toyotas specifically so the offsets and backspacing options are...

    2004 Tundra Adventure Cab - Build/Adventure Thread

This is where I want to mount mine. Is there any way it would fit rotated 90 degrees so the pivot for the lid was at the rear of the cab? Or just not enough room?

    *Rickashay's 04' Tundra* - A build of Compromises

Awsesome. Forgot about the 05, 06 headlights. Let me look into my supplier and see what they are worth. I would just have to ad the difference of the newer lights onto the final cost, but I don't expect them to be too much different. I'll get the pricing nailed down in the next couple days for...

    *Rickashay's 04' Tundra* - A build of Compromises

Scored them for $650 US Shipped. Apparently they were like $1500 MSRP back in the day. Retrofitted Tundra Headlights Some of you may know, I used to have a small business retrofitting headlights with HID projectors. I still maintain a good relationship with the guys at TRS (the Retrofit...

    *Rickashay's 04' Tundra* - A build of Compromises

Yah the front diff breather is to the right and below the oil filler tube. Look down by the wheel well kind by the driver motor mount. You will see two breather caps there. The TRD long tube headers are as rare as they come because Toyota stopped making them in 04? Yes carb legal. These ones in...

    *Rickashay's 04' Tundra* - A build of Compromises

Finally got my ARB diff breather in. Going to be extending the factory trans/front diff lines and running them into the manifold when I have time but the rear was a must do. IMG_4451.jpg by RickaShay24, on Flickr Ran down to my Montana mailbox to pick up my Chevy 63 kit, front ARB, and...

Can you drop some 1st gen Tundra knowledge on me?

I've had mine for 2 years now and love it - ~60000kms in 2 years and I've never had a single problem with the truck of any kind. So comfortable on long trips, the V8 and size are perfect. I live in a rust-prone area but if you wash the undercarriage and buy once that has been cared for, the...
