Great photos, thanks for sharing! I gotta get down that way, camping at that Geo's cabin has been on my to-do list for some time. Such a pretty area. Truck looks great in action too!
It's painful for us Canadians to buy from the US right now! Our dollar is worthless....then ad the duty and brokerage and it makes paying the higher Canadian retail prices worth it sometimes.
I actually got it given to me by a friend when I had my 3rd Gen 4Runner. I think they were selling for 250-$300 on T4R.org for a while because someone in the military was stationed over there and was buying them up and selling them to members. Look into the Subaru field monitor, it's made by the...
Damn I love sans flares. I think I'm in denial that the flares need to stay, then I see your truck and I think I need to pull mine off. Way more ************ without.
Where are you located?
Nathan at The Gear Shop in Calgary can definitely supply all of the above + some. They are awesome to deal with too. Not sure where in Canada your located though. Cheers
True. Even 63" is pretty long though, your front mount will already be so far forward and is already at risk of becoming a hang up point. But it's only 2" I guess.
Lots of documentation on the 63's though and the Tundra leafs would be uncharted territory to some degree. My plan if I go 63's is...
I checked mine breifly for this same purpose but I think it would be difficult to have externally mounted shocks with the Tundra. I'm running 3.5" BS and I don't think I would have enough space with a shock in there.... Partly because of the 35's though.
I do figure you could relocate the...
Thanks for taking the time to do this. Definitely more shackle angle going on there.... looks a lot more normal. I'm going to try and duplicate your results this weekend with my shocks unbolted.
Just when I was about to pull the trigger on the 63's...
Yah the armor tech one is nice. Just not sure how easily it would bolt up to our tapered rear frames. CBI adjustable one sounds interesting?
Will do.
I'll admit I'm leaning heavily to the 63's. Fairly cheap to get me going and if I don't like the weight capacity I can always get a custom 63"...
I definitely see your argument. Damn I wish we had more suspension gurus over here. Might have to post this on TW and see the flames, er feedback I get. haha
That's not a bad idea. Pulling the leaf and testing motion range free of the leaf pack would certainly pin point if the shackle is the...
Very Interesting. I'd like to see the mounting plates again. Damn, I'll probably just get AP's if they are bolt on and deamed able to withstand hi-lifting.
Maybe not such an issue in Cali, but powdercoat is gone and rusted typically within a couple years of use up here. Pretty hard to sand blast and re-powdercoat when they attached to the truck! My reason for bolt on anyways....
Plus the bolt-ons usually have a more substantial and designed...
My shocks are limiting my droop. But not by much (~1.5"). I'd like to see your shackle angle at the above photo... if it's laying flat, I've got something going on wrong with mine.
True, but its the only pic I could find at the time. I'll search for a better pic of the Pelfreybilt setup using...
You show us the wheels but no side profile picture! Common man, we need moar!
haha looks great. Those ARB lights are huge and awesome. I bet they are bright as hell.
