Dual Battery Systems in the LX470?

I know you know but for anybody else reading, there are many differences between the LX and LC besides AHC, especially in the 98-02 years. Some useful and some not. Some of the useful ones are memory seats, standard rear AC, home link (i.e. garage door opener.), push button fold-in mirrors...

    Why Roof Top Tent

Well, there should be a distinction between the RTT's. The Autohome Columbus/Maggiolina/airtop is much faster to put away than the Eezi-awn clamshell types... probly about half the time. Use goose-down bedding and pillows and bedding can be kept in the autohomes easily. A little bit of bedding...

Land Cruiser Virgin Here - Which 100 Series is "best"

I've been told the 06-07 VVT-I engine has an air injection pump/system that can be very expensive to fix. Search 05-06 Tundras for more information... as they were much more plentiful. For LC100's, I'd probably say 03-05 are THE years to get.

    Open bed sleeping platform concept

I would probably be a little concerned about pulling the bed's walls in towards each other with two people on the platform. Off the top of my head, I'd say a 300lb weight on top would pull nearly 600lbs inward on the walls. I'd add some supports to the platform.

    Hankook MT vs Toyo MT

I have no experience with the Hankook's but have run the Toyo MT's and currently run 3 other sets of Toyos on various cars and they are all well made and all balance quite nicely. I was able to get 30k miles on my Toyo MT's on my LX470 and they still had 40-50% tread when I replaced them.

    Lifetime Camping table

Honu, thanks! We have a Sam's club but it is not exactly local. However, I looked at online and it is $59 and only $9 shipping (plus 10% non-member). My only hesitation is the weight at 40lbs. http://www.samsclub.com/sams/shop/product.jsp?productId=prod3550079

Actually, it would be a bit more slick on the 100 as the fasteners would be hidden on the inside of the camper.

    To FZJ80 or not

They are both very well built. Many 100 series owner envy the SFA, FF axles and maybe the styling of the 80. 80 series owner might envy the 100 series V-8 engine, 5-sp transmission, A-TRAC/VSC, and overall comfort of the 100 series. The 80 is more utilitarian... and that is preferred by many as...
