1973 Wagoneer - Full Size Camping Goodness

2 weeks ago I was working on the wag with the garage door up. a lady pulled into my driveway and asked "is that a wagoneer?" I said yes, she asked "do you have interest in getting another?" I said "maybe, it depends I guess whats up?" She explained she had a 1974 that belonged to her father...

I think these guys have pointed you in the right direction. Testing at the pump will tell if there's any blockage/stoppage between the pump and the carb. Also as mentioned the sock in the fuel tank collapsing is a somewhat common culprit. I'm running a Holley red and have been for 4 or so...

Meh. I think its a shame to cover up one of the least common grills. The Cheese grater with the wrap around corner markers was only available from 1970 to 1973, and only on wagoneers, no j trucks or cherokees ever had them.

so i picked this factory brush guard up for a song, practivcally stole the thing as they commonly sell for about $150-$200 to see if i liked it on the wag and if not i'd just flip the thing. Yeah. Definitely not feeling it.

    Camper shell finishing?

my main concern was not wanting to be raised off of the bed because then one cannot sit upright in the camper shell. I know some of this is a repeat, but here's the full story that I posted over on another site. Hi! Not really sure where else to place this, as my truck isnt going to be used...

Well that's all assuming one decides to run the fuel command center. I'm not certain that there is even any room for it on an FSJ. Without it there's a bit of fuel line work involved including their crazy *** pump and return mines and all sorts of fun stuff. I'd go the fuel command center route...

given the amount of time, effort, and money that went into the axle swap in the 15 months preceeding this "lull" in modification, i'm pretty much set for life on modding this truck. My goal is to do interior next so the thing at least looks halfway decent. 5 years of trashed carpet and ever...

Yeah, mostly minor stuff these days. For the past year I havent had to do anything major. Really all I have done is replace some rear bushings, check these u joints, top off some fluids, upgraded the wiring and motor in the tailgate, repaired that alternator bracket, cleared a piece of debris...

Well, your typical vortec swap, even when done in a thrifty manner generally comes in around $5k. For the average person. If you are a master mechanic or or master fabricator who can do anything ever, you can probably get away with maybe 3 grand?

I have seen most folks who go the junk yard route end up spending about $500-$800 depending on what parts they buy new to supplement the junkyard goods. A all new kit from Hamilton will run about $1400. FITech will be about $1200

Done. Didn't really change anything even though one u joint was a little stiff through part of the rotation, and the caps were a little wobbly. I only get the vibe when I'm already doing about 70 and step on the gas hard. It continues up to about 85mph. I can cruise at 70-75 without feeling the...

Need to investigate what I consider "excessive" driveline vibes this weekend. Nothing terrible, but approaching the point to where it was when I had the offcenter axle installed. Perhaps my u joints have simply worn in a bit too much because it's been a few years and the driveline angles are...
