1973 Wagoneer - Full Size Camping Goodness

Nope. The split was chamfered so that there was more area for the bead to fill, then was welded then ground down. On the back we welded a little tab of scrap metal to hold it all together as well.

in need of a new camp axe or hatchet

Also an interesting item, but not really in line with a somewhat traditional wood splitting and chopping axe, and a as with the above, up there price wise.

in need of a new camp axe or hatchet

Very nice but right up there with the Sweedish stuff that is a bit beyond what Im lookinf at price wise.

in need of a new camp axe or hatchet

I'd like to note I do own a fiskars splitting axe. Thing came sharp as hell and actually did a decent amount of damage by making a razor thin cut through my fingernail one day when new. I cant get over the hollow handle. I feel like the thing would shatter if hit wrong, and I dont like to bring...

in need of a new camp axe or hatchet

I need a new hatchet/camp axe. My little cheapo home depot unit I got back several years ago is about to come unhung and I'd rather get a quality one than waste time and effort on this one. I read a bunch of reviews and did some research but would be interested if any of you could chime in...

    Ammo can idea thread

thanks. I know its not very overlandy or even camping/wheeling related, but it was just the ticket for me because of my cargo cover. I couldnt put the speakers in the stock location used in the later wags/cherokees (lower on the rear quarter panels) because it would have been underneath my...

Thank you for the concern. The magnets are super strong and require me to yank with a hell of a lot of force to release them, they have never so much as shifted in all my wheeling and driving over the past few years. also, directly in front of them is a wing nut that holds the cargo cover in...

    Ammo can idea thread

grew tired of the 1 AM speaker in my dash, which also interfered with installing a radio because it hung too deep, so the radio was in the glove box. did this with some 30 cal cans: Super strong magnets and 6' of cord so they can be hung outside the jeep on camping and beach trips...

1973 Wagoneer - Full Size Camping Goodness

Thanks, haha. In all reality I probably could have done the trail but I didnt want to risk it and just headed home. It was pretty solid and took a while for me to remove the bracket when I got home.

what do jeep guys like as a truck?

I have no need for a huge truck, but I do have need for a truck. My DD (which gets driven about once a week) is this ever so slightly lifted and oversized tire-ed V8 Dakota 4x4. 140k miles and so far so good. It's more than enough for what I need and considering my total investment is like $1200...

A friend set up a wheeling trip to Bodie CA this weekend. A few of us decided to go camping the night before in June Lake CA again. On the first day I fired up my jeep at the campsite and the alternator belt was squealing. Turns out the bracket had snapped in half. We JB welded it and let it...

    Lumpskie's 1989 Grand Wagoneer Build

I agree in a way but if his oil pressure is dropping across the board then that is indicative of an issue or a faulty reading. If it's beause if high mileage and wear it'll take a while to slowly slowly go down. If your numbers were good and now dropped 10psi but everything sounds and feels...

    Lumpskie's 1989 Grand Wagoneer Build

Okay, so, it's a 360, theres your first problem. Oiling issues abound. As they age, they tend to wear out, oil pressure tends to drop. Now, lets assume its a healthy 360 and there isn't actually a major oiling problem, bad bearings or anything like that. 1. Are you using a mechanical gauge...
