HAs he gotten back to you yet? Yah, that's the plan for the 80. I need to get Josh some measurements and we are going to start going right away.
The Stealth 6's are wicked on the 4th gen's. I think you really made a good choice! We need to hit the trail sometime this season! I'll let you know...
Hey, nice wheels ;)
Truck is really coming together. I couldn't agree more with your above statements. My 3rd gen had 3 different suspension setups while I owned it and 4 wheel combos. With my Lexus, I'm just doing everything the way I want it straight from the get-go. My only compromise will...
^^Thanks guys!!
I picked up a few goodies for the Cruiser yesterday and had some time to install some of them. I didn't have quite enough time as I wanted to turn wrenches and install, but I figured I could grab some photos of the truck in it's current form:
LX450 holes filled and ready for...
What color did you go with? Any photos?
Lots of people run the Monstaliner as an alternative to LineX, and seem to be happy with that too. I'm a big fan of shiny paint though, so I want this to look as professional as possible and the LineX warranty has a lot of value IMO. I would love to see...
Thanks guys!
You got it Tim, you saw this LX in action ala Whipsaw 2011. My "style" differs quite a bit from how the truck was initially built but its been PM'd to hell and back and it's an Arizona original, so I couldn't be happier. PS I've got Utah/California/Arizona on my radar for this...
The holes have been welded shut. I got the LX back last week and it's pretty much ready for LineX but I still havent decided on a color and I want to get the snorkel hole cut in and any body trimming done before the bedliner job. I decided to go for the big tires right away, I was debating 35's...
The Backstory
Well I' started this build thread on MUD also, but thought I would merge it over here as well. I'll admit, my progress so far has been pretty weak and I've only driven the truck for about 30 minutes since owning it. Needs quite a bit of work but the foundation is definitely solid...

MODS
*As always, a shout out to SCS Wheels and ARB for their support with this build. Both excellent companies with...
The roof rack on my 3rd gen was from Whiston Metalworks. It was a piece of art and such a nice rack. FWIW, I've been chatting with Josh about a rack for my LX450. It's still a ways out (fall/winter) but if you'd like he can package both on the same pallet and we could do some combo shipping...
Hahah yah I didnt have the sunroof. I have driven quite a few 3rd gens with the sunroof and even with my gangster lean on, my head skims the roof edge around the sunroof glass. I bet my 4Runner had a solid 3" more headroom vs. sunroof models.
Hi there! Yah we are still doing lights, although our timeline is a little out of whack right now. My business partner just had a baby (he builds 90% of the lights...) so we've been taking it easy lately with orders. We will be firing back up again, full-speed, right away. Please send me an...
Couple more poser shots... Damn I need to do the Bilstein shock kit and get rid of all this rake!

Haha Yah, I miss the 4Runner, so I need to post pics to try and eleviate the feeling of sellers remorse. haha
lol thanks! Can't wait to see what rack you end up with! I'm actually trying to work something out with Josh now, and get one built for my LX450!
I've never really measured how much...
No problem, I was so happy with mine... and Josh is a super awesome guy, that I feel obligated to pass it on wherever I can!
For posterity - my old setup in action:

Have you thought about the Whitson Metalworks 3rd gen rack? I had it on my old 4Runner and it was outstanding. Very sturdy, full length, VERY snug fitting. Worth the extra cost IMO and he will even custom make any little changes you might want to do to it.
Thanks! The truck is mainly a pavement pounder so keeping it subtle but clean is my goal. Mileage hasnt really budged 18mpg on the highway pretty much every tank.
The Tundra got some lovin' while the LX is away at the welder...
SCS Stealth 6 in Matte Silver - limited edition wheel and wanted to stray away from black wheels for my DD and do something "different". 265/70/17 Cooper ST Maxx tires. The tires cleared fine with the stock wheels but as soon as...
Thanks gents! It's already built but is going through a ton of changes this season... I'm more stoked for the copious amounts of OEM maintenance. I get to jump right in, without even baselining it!
