Looks like a super nice find! That truck is going to last forever with those low miles. I'm excited to see how this build thread progresses. I've said it once, and I'll say it again - I can't believe more people dont modify these trucks and I can't believe the lack of aftermarket support. I...
Hmmm, interesting. I went back to the shop I bought my 555 units at, after I received my OEM units and compared them side by side. I did notice minor difference in the castings. I wish I would have taken a photo of them side by side....
Not sure what you mean here? Moog or 555 are definitely NOT OEM parts, maybe you mean OEM-replacement parts? Sorry just trying to clarify.
I'll pitch my 0.02 here:
I replaced my LBJ's early last summer as a preventative maintenance measure. If you search there are quite a few LBJ failures...
I'm also running Lightroom 4.3 and have come to love it. I switched from Aperture last year and havent looked back.
I am sure you will find the T3i to be a great camera and a great place to build some photography skills. Another sweet lens to have in your bag is the 50mm f/1.8 prime lens. It's...
Hmm.... This sounds very familiar! And yes, you should make your way to Canada and I will show you around. haha I have two dogs about the same size. I use the truck for wheeling and DD but me and the GF frequent weekend vehicle based camping trips in the summer. I have to drive an hour to be in...
Really depends on the snow conditions, but it is definitely something to watch out for. The wetter (or stickier) the snow, the more chance that snow is going to stick on the front end and pack up. The day posted above wasnt too bad, the snow was pretty fluffy so it wasnt that big of an issue.
Wow those are purdy shocks. Interested to see how much you like them. (Notice how I said "how much" and not "if"? They are supposed to be pretty wicked...)
Nice build Mike!! That front bumper is wicked!
Definitely sign up on the CT4WD forum. They have a premium ($40 a year I think) membership and a free membership. I recommend signing up for the "free" version and go on the forum and introducing yourself. You can test the waters before signing up...
Thanks a lot! It's always nice to see other appreciate the effort that has went into my old Toy.
I've got a question for you... I was just looking at your build over on 120, great 4th gen, they sure are growing on me. Your build is very functional and I like how clean you've kept it. I'm about...
Thanks a lot!
Hey Mike, Yah you should head down here for sure! No worries on the JK, we aren't haters! hahah I actually really like the JK's. I know a lot of the local CT4WD (Canada Toyota 4WD Association) Calgary runs have Jeeps, Hummers, and Rover's going out all the time so you may want to...
I posted a couple of these pics in the "show us your Tacoma/4Runner picture thread" but thought I would bump this thread as the location was very similar to the previous run I did the week before.
This last weekend was a little different with copious amount of snow:

Haven't updated this in a while. Not much has changed on the truck other than new wheels. Oh, and I got some Lightforce 170's but they are now removed and FS - I just don't like the "classic offroad" round lights look on my truck. Going LED soon...
Pics of new wheels:

Hahaha, thanks! Yeah it was rather intense with the copious amount of snow, but it was definitely a blast. Snow is fun anytime, as you can attest.
Same. Mr.Grimm your truck is BA. Post more pics please!!
A couple photos from this weekend's run to the mountains. Yes, there was a TON of snow...

Thanks everyone!
This forum keeps me motivated to constantly pursue adventure. Just doing my part to try and pass that feeling forward.
EDIT: Hey Dave, yah he's keeping his FJ. I had a lengthy discussion with him about it actually, and he seems like he has realized how capable and reliable...
I really appreciate the compliment! It's the fantastic photography and perspective from other members and their journeys that motivate me to share MY stories and adventures. Your photos are always very inspiring as well!
A teaser from my weekend's adventure:
